GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — There will be no self-proclaimed national championship for Central Florida this year.

Tigers quarterback Joe Burrow dissected the Knights' secondary for 394 yards and four touchdowns to end UCF's nation-best 25-game winning streak.

With a thunderous, blindside collision , Burrow found himself flat on his back, woozy and wondering what happened.

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — When Joe Burrow found freshman receiver Ja'Marr Chase deep down the left sideline to the Rice 2, it marked the LSU's quarterback's 11th completion of 15 or more yards.
And that was before five minutes had elapsed in the third quarter.
Burrow passed for a career-high 307 yards and two touchdowns in less than three quarters, and No. 10 LSU rolled to a 42-10 victory over struggling Rice on Saturday night.
LSU bounces back from Alabama loss with win at Arkansas
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Ed Orgeron could be heard screaming encouragement through the door of the LSU locker room following a 24-17 victory over Arkansas on Saturday night.
It wasn't the prettiest of finishes to an otherwise dominant victory, but the coach of the No. 9 Tigers (8-2, 5-2 Southeastern Conference) was all about restoring a sense of swagger after a disheartening home loss to No. 1 Alabama a week ago.
Defense leads No. 5 LSU past No. 22 MSU, 19-3
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Boos rained down from the Tiger Stadium stands, even as quarterback Joe Burrow kneeled to close out No. 5 LSU's latest convincing victory over a ranked opponent.
It was an unusual scene spawned by an unfortunate play that could carry considerable implications going forward.

No. 5 LSU aims to validate offensive gains at No. 22 Florida
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — First-year LSU quarterback Joe Burrow repeated the term "breakout game" on Monday as he referred to the most recent showing of the Tigers' passing offense.
The implication is that going forward, there's a new, higher standard of production for Burrow and Co. — a premise that will be tested Saturday in Gainesville, Florida.

No. 6 LSU buoyed by Burrow’s intangibles, if not his stats
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Joe Burrow's pedestrian completion percentage and passing totals might be more of an issue if sixth-ranked LSU were losing.
For now, the Tigers' transfer quarterback appears to get more criticism from himself than anyone else at LSU. Coaches and teammates rave about Burrow's mentality, football IQ, toughness, leadership and other intangibles.

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — LSU quarterback Joe Burrow was not inclined to downplay inefficiencies in the passing game that, fortunately for the Tigers, were otherwise inconsequential in a lopsided, season-opening victory.

Ohio State transfer QB Burrow named LSU starter vs. Miami
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Ohio State transfer Joe Burrow didn't need long to convince new teammates at LSU that he had no sense of entitlement and was prepared to work.
On Monday, Burrow was named the starting quarterback for the 25th-ranked Tigers' season opener against No. 8 Miami in Dallas on Sunday night. LSU coach Ed Orgeron described competition between Burrow and sophomore Myles Brennan as "tight," and added that he would not hesitate to change QBs should the starter falter.
LSU, Orgeron, take fortress mentality into uncertain 2018
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — If LSU coach Ed Orgeron wanted to highlight perceived slights of the Tigers as a way of motivating players to prove their critics wrong, he'd have plenty of material.
LSU backup quarterbacks McMillan, Narcisse leaving program
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — LSU backup quarterbacks Justin McMillan and Lowell Narcisse have announced they're leaving the Tigers.
McMillan graduated this summer and is eligible to play immediately at any NCAA program. His announcement does not say where he'll go, but says it's time for him to find a better fit to pursue his athletic goals. The 6-foot-3 McMillian has two years of eligibility remaining after taking a redshirt year in 2015 and appearing in one game in each of the past two seasons.
ATLANTA (AP) — The Latest on SEC Media Days (all times local):
LSU coach Ed Orgeron is looking for a starting quarterback. He has kept open the option of allowing the competition to carry into the season.
Ohio State graduate transfer Joe Burrow will compete with junior Justin McMillan, sophomore Myles Brennan and redshirt freshman Lowell Narcisse for the starting job. Burrow has two years of eligibility remaining.
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Former Ohio State quarterback Joe Burrow is transferring to LSU, where he will be eligible to play immediately and compete for the Tigers' starting job.
LSU on Monday announced the addition of Burrow, who recently graduated from Ohio State and has two years of eligibility remaining. He spent three seasons at Ohio State but was never able to work his way to the top of a crowded depth chart that included J.T. Barrett over the last four seasons.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Facing the possibility of sitting as a backup for a third season at Ohio State, quarterback Joe Burrow on Tuesday announced his intention to transfer.
The decision from the redshirt junior, delivered via Twitter , wasn't unexpected, although he didn't disclose where he was headed. With Dwayne Haskins Jr. the favorite to start in the fall, Burrow previously acknowledged that a transfer was possible.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Dwayne Haskins Jr. and Joe Burrow both showed flashes of big-play ability in a condensed spring game Saturday as each tried to make his case for being the next starting quarterback at Ohio State.
The third guy, redshirt freshman Tate Martell, wasn't bad either, showing off his speed and slick moves in the Scarlet and Gray Game, which was moved up and hurried up to beat some bad weather.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio State moved up its spring game to late morning Saturday in an effort to beat bad weather that already has led a handful of schools to cancel or reschedule the annual scrimmages.
The school moved up the game two hours to 11:45 a.m. EDT to try to get it in before the worst of the rain and possible thunderstorms roll in. A lacrosse game scheduled for the morning in Ohio Stadium was moved to Friday night.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A three-way quarterback derby promises to lend some intrigue to Ohio State's spring practice that opened on Tuesday morning.
Other key position battles will take place in the preseason, but none will be more talked about than the competition that could determine the Buckeyes' starter under center for the next two or three seasons.
Ohio State backup QB Burrow sidelined with broken hand
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio State backup quarterback Joe Burrow will be sidelined indefinitely after breaking his throwing hand in practice.
An Ohio State spokesman says Burrow, a redshirt sophomore, had surgery after breaking a bone in his right hand during practice on Monday.
Burrow backed up J.T. Barrett last season and was competing for the job with Dwayne Haskins in preseason camp. The winner was expected to have an advantage in the quarterback derby next year to replace Barrett.
Burrow, Haskins battling for Ohio State backup QB job
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The backup quarterback derby at Ohio State continues furiously in preseason camp without definitive word on whether Joe Burrow or Dwayne Haskins will be No. 2.
The starting job is firmly held by J.T. Barrett, of course, but Burrow, Haskins and true freshman Tate Martell have battled throughout preseason camp for backup duty — and more importantly, to position themselves to start next year when Barrett is gone.
Even for contenders, keeping QB pipeline filled is tricky
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The competition to replace Deshaun Watson at Clemson next spring will feature Kelly Bryant, who has already put two seasons of eligibility in behind the Tigers' star, along with redshirt freshman Zerrick Cooper and a five-star recruit who is enrolling in college early.
