The Great Danes (8-1) won their second in a row by rallying from a 10-point deficit early in the second half. They took the lead for good at 75-74 on Nichols' 3-pointer with 2:17 to play but didn't extend to a two-possession lead until Joe Cremo's free throws made it 84-80 with 15.5 seconds left.
Joe Cremo in a can doesn't exist in grocery stores, but the University at Albany basketball team likes when it can pull some of the contents off its shelf.
Cremo, the 6-foot-4 pride of Scotia High School, was shut down in the first half of Wednesday night's nonconference game against Colgate.

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — Marqueese Grayson and Joe Cremo combined to score 39 points — including nine in the final 37 seconds — and Albany overcame an 11-point, second-have deficit to beat Brown 80-76 in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off on Sunday night.

Grand Canyon survives Albany comeback bid in 82-77 win
UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — DeWayne Russell scored 28 points and added eight assists and Grand Canyon hung on to beat Albany 82-77 on Saturday night.
The game was the opening round of the Hall of Fame Tip Off Tournament at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Russell finished 10 of 17 from the field. Joshua Braun and Oscar Frayer each added 12 points for Grand Canyon (1-2), with Braun also pulling down seven rebounds.
