CINCINNATI (AP) — With the exception of a fourth-round quarterback, the Bengals' first draft under coach Zac Taylor was more about upgrading their infrastructure.

CINCINNATI (AP) — One of the few bright spots in Cincinnati's offense was Joe Mixon leading the AFC in rushing last season. The Bengals put the run game front-and-center with their first two picks...
Bengals clinch last-place finish with 26-18 loss to Browns
CLEVELAND (AP) — Marvin Lewis spent about 60 seconds summing up his team's latest loss. Hue Jackson was nowhere to be found.
At this point, there's not much left to say — the Cincinnati Bengals are a mess.
Bengals end 5-game losing streak, beat Raiders 30-16
CINCINNATI (AP) — An entire month had come and gone without even one win, leaving the Bengals in their deepest drought since 2010.
Joe Mixon provided just enough to give the sparse crowd a reason to cheer at the end of their final home game.
Bengals try to maintain slim chance vs looking-ahead Raiders
CINCINNATI (AP) — Joe Mixon had one of the best games of his career in yet another Bengals loss — making it seven of their past eight, and counting. He sees no reason to slow down even as another season slips away in Cincinnati.
"Right now, we are down but we ain't out, so that's how I'm approaching it," the second-year running back said. "I'm going to approach it like we're in."
Joe Mixon becomes centerpiece of Bengals’ depleted offense
CINCINNATI (AP) — A.J. Green had surgery on his injured toe. Tight end Tyler Eifert is recovering from a broken ankle. Andy Dalton is gone, too, sidelined by a torn thumb ligament in his passing hand.
What's left of the Bengals' offense? Running back Joe Mixon, who's settling into the role Cincinnati envisioned for him during last year's draft.
Bengals’ hopeful season has crashed into last place
CINCINNATI (AP) — Jeff Driskel was better in his second NFL start. Joe Mixon ran for more than 100 yards. A historically bad defense held its own after a rough start.
With all that, the Bengals still couldn't get the one thing they really need.
"Need a win, and everything's better," coach Marvin Lewis said Monday.
They haven't had one of those since October, leaving Cincinnati (5-8) in a freefall that's taken it from the top of the AFC North all the way to the bottom.
Bengals struggle to keep up with high-flying Chiefs in loss
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Cincinnati Bengals knew that with a banged-up defense facing the NFL's highest-scoring offense, there was a good chance they'd have to simply outscore the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night.
Mahomes torches Bengals for 4 TDs as Chiefs roll, 45-10
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Patrick Mahomes threw for 358 yards and four touchdowns, Kareem Hunt finished with three scores and the Kansas City Chiefs rebounded from their first loss by throttling the Cincinnati Bengals 45-10 on Sunday night.
Mahomes was 28 of 39 with his only big mistake an underthrown interception, though the Chiefs (6-1) were already so far ahead of Cincinnati (4-3) by that point it didn't really matter.
Same ending: Steelers stun Bengals 28-21 on AB’s late TD
CINCINNATI (AP) — Joe Mixon scored on a 4-yard run and dashed toward the stands in celebration of Cincinnati's go-ahead touchdown. On the Steelers sideline, Ben Roethlisberger looked at the clock, saw there was 1:18 left, and told his linemen not to fret.
"They gave us too much time," Big Ben said confidently.
Somehow, the Steelers never run out of time at Paul Brown Stadium.
Bengals defense leads 27-point surge in win over Dolphins
CINCINNATI (AP) — Rookie Sam Hubbard was disappointed as Ryan Tannehill slipped past him, avoiding a sack. A moment later, the football slipped out of the quarterback's grasp and flew right to Hubbard, who was as surprised as anyone to have it in his hands.
Bengals score 27 straight points for 27-17 win over Dolphins
CINCINNATI (AP) — Sam Hubbard had missed on his attempt to get Ryan Tannehill.
Next thing he knew, the ball was flying right toward him and there was nobody between him and the end zone.
The rookie had an improbably easy time completing Cincinnati's big comeback.
Michael Johnson returned an interception for the tying score, and Hubbard went 19 yards with a fumble for the clinching touchdown Sunday, rallying the Bengals from a 17-point deficit to a 27-17 victory over the Miami Dolphins.
Bengals 3-1 in challenging start, Dolphins trying to regroup
CINCINNATI (AP) — The first month shaped up as the Bengals' most daunting, with three road games in the first four. The offense and defense were getting accustomed to new systems. And then the injuries began.
Running back Joe Mixon tore knee cartilage. Center Billy Price tore a foot ligament. Linebacker Preston Brown sprained an ankle. Linebacker Vontaze Burfict was suspended all month for another NFL policy violation.
Bengals try to extend early surge without RB Joe Mixon
CINCINNATI (AP) — Joe Mixon's chair was upside-down in his locker on Monday, a reminder that the Cincinnati Bengals are moving ahead without the running back who's been a key part of their 2-0 start.
Mixon had debris removed from his right knee over the weekend and is expected to be sidelined for a few games. In the interim, the AFC North leaders will lean more heavily on Giovani Bernard and Tra Carson, who hasn't carried the ball in an NFL game.
Mixon it up: Bengals 2nd-year RB is focus of new offense
CINCINNATI (AP) — When the Bengals raised the curtain on their new offense, Joe Mixon was front and center.
The second-year running back was the focus of Cincinnati's redesigned offense on Sunday, getting all but one of the carries and finishing second in receiving. A 34-23 win at Indianapolis showed a different focus in coordinator Bill Lazor's redesigned playbook.

That's not what Cincinnati expected when it took a public relations hit and drafted Mixon in the second round last year.

Whether trying to avoid a first-round gamble or reaching for a player too soon, many fantasy football players will go into 2018 drafts with a list of performers to absolutely not trust.
Don't be that obtuse to completely exclude players. One person's disappointment could be another's bargain:
CINCINNATI (AP) — The Bengals turned back to offense in the fourth round of the draft, filling their need for a backup running back.
They picked up Mark Walton from Miami with the 112th overall pick. He missed most of last season with an injured right ankle.
CINCINNATI (AP) — Andy Dalton hasn't seen this much change in the Bengals' offense since his rookie season. He's expecting even more when the NFL draft begins on Thursday.
For the second straight year, the Bengals need a lot of help on offense.
They chose receiver John Ross and running back Joe Mixon with their first two picks last season, hoping to inject big plays into an offense that had declined.

Lazor gets chance to resurrect Bengals’ league-worst offense
CINCINNATI (AP) — When Bill Lazor looks at the Bengals' playbook, he sees the imprint of three coordinators. He's getting a chance to try to pull it all together and resurrect the NFL's least-productive offense — a shocking statistic for a talented unit.
Allen Park — The audience for a Detroit Lions film review is down to sadists and those who want to take a glance at the car accident while passing through to a less depressing article. That said, I made a commitment to stick to this format at the start of the season, so here we are. Here are 10 observations from Sunday's 26-17 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Titans RB Murray hurts right knee in loss to Rams
NEW YORK (AP) — Tennessee could be without starting running back DeMarco Murray next week when it tried to clinch a playoff spot.

The Rams lost left guard Rodger Saffold to a rib injury late in the game. Los Angeles safety Marqui Christian also hurt a shoulder.
Depleted Bengals put center T.J. Johnson on injury list

Bengals CB Pacman Jones goes on injury list
CINCINNATI (AP) — The Bengals put cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones on injured reserve Saturday, ending his season with a groin injury.
Jones is one of at least six starters who isn't expected to play Sunday against the Bears (3-9) at Paul Brown Stadium. The Bengals (5-7) suffered significant losses at cornerback during a 23-20 loss to Pittsburgh on Monday night, when Jones got hurt while making an interception.

Cincinnati Bengals rookie Joe Mixon, offensive line show they can work well together
CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon has a promise of dinner for his offensive linemen on the table, and after his big game on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, he’s not backing down from it.
“They can get whatever they want,” Mixon said happily after the Bengals beat the Browns 30-16. A large part of that win was due to Mixon, who rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for 51 yards.
Mixon finally hits triple-digits, Bengals get run game going
CINCINNATI (AP) — Joe Mixon was frustrated.
Accustomed to breaking off big run after big run for Oklahoma, the rookie running back couldn't even get back to the line of scrimmage with the Bengals.
Big plays? Just getting a couple of yards was the best he could do. Finally, he accepted that sometimes that's the way it goes in the NFL, and things started to change.

CINCINNATI (AP) — The Bengals are celebrating their 50th season.
None has been worse when it comes to their running game.

CINCINNATI (AP) — The Bengals filled their need for a running back by signing Brian Hill off the Falcons practice squad Tuesday.
