St. Louis, which overcame deficits of 4-0 and 6-4, moved two games ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the race for the second wild card spot in the NL. Cincinnati beat Los Angeles 10-6 Monday.

Wainwright put on DL by Cards because of inflamed elbow
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Right-hander Adam Wainwright was placed on the 10-day disabled list Sunday by the St. Louis Cardinals because of right elbow inflammation.
The 36-year-old is 1-2 with a 3.45 ERA in three starts. He had been scheduled to start Tuesday against the New York Mets.
Wainwright tweeted "all will be well in a few days."
Cardinals recall top outfield prospect Tyler O’Neill
CHICAGO (AP) — The St. Louis Cardinals have recalled outfielder Tyler O'Neill from Triple-A Memphis and optioned pitcher John Brebbia to the farm team.
The moves came before Thursday's game against the Chicago Cubs.
The 22-year-old O'Neill is a top prospect. In 12 games with Memphis, the muscular Canadian batted .388 with six homers, 18 RBIs and an .837 slugging percentage. The sizzling start came after he pulled a hamstring during spring training.
Cardinals CF Fowler bruises knee crashing into wall on homer
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Cardinals center fielder Dexter Fowler has bruised his left knee against Pittsburgh when he crashed into the wall trying to catch a long drive by Adam Frazier that turned into an inside-the-park home run.
Frazier's shot off John Brebbia in the seventh inning Saturday night hit just a foot from the top of the wall. After banging into the fence, Fowler crumpled to the ground and stayed down as Frazier circled the bases. The solo home run gave the Pirates a 3-2 lead.
Betts’ 2-run double caps Red Sox 5-4 comeback win
BOSTON (AP) — Mookie Betts finally had a pitch he could drive and the Boston Red Sox pulled out anther last at-bat win in Fenway Park.
Betts lined a two-run double off the Green Monster with two outs in the ninth inning, capping a three-run rally that lifted the Red Sox to a 5-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday night.
