ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Davis Love III and Dru Love closed with a 16-under 56 in a scramble format to set two tournament records and win the PNC Father-Son Challenge by three shots Sunday.
Team Love shot 27 on the front nine at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, took the lead with a birdie at No. 11 and finished off the record round with four more birdies and an eagle. The 56 beat by one the record previously held by Raymond Floyd and his son in 1995, and by Bob Charles and his son in 1998.

The 2014 Olympic bronze medalist announced his retirement Friday, moments after taking his final run at the team trials for the coming season. Antoine would have been USA-1 on the World Cup circuit again this year after winning those trials, but he hopped off his sled after crossing the finish line at Mount Van Hoevenberg in Lake Placid, New York, and declared he was done.

CRANS-MONTANA, Switzerland (AP) — Maximilian Kieffer shot a 6-under 64 to lead the European Masters first round on Thursday.
The 28-year-old German, who never won on the European Tour, had seven birdies and one bogey in finishing one shot better than Andy Sullivan, Soren Kjeldsen, Julien Guerrier and Hideto Tanihara.
Englishman Sullivan, a member of Europe's losing 2016 Ryder Cup team, had a run of five birdies in six holes to reach the turn in 30.

Daly withdraws from British Open
CARNOUSTIE, Scotland (AP) — John Daly is missing the British Open for only the fourth time since he first became eligible as a surprise major champion.
Daly has notified the R&A that he is withdrawing because of a knee injury. Daly also cited his knee injury in asking for a cart at the U.S. Senior Open, a request that was denied. He played the following week at The Greenbrier on the PGA Tour and missed the cut.
He was replaced by former PGA champion Keegan Bradley.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — John Daly has withdrawn from the U.S. Senior Open, citing a deteriorating knee condition and blaming the USGA for not allowing him to use a golf cart.
The 52-year-old two-time major champion went on Twitter to say the USGA turned down his request to use a golf cart, which could have been allowed under rules that conform with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Three more fan favorites have committed to play in this year’s American Family Insurance Championship.
Big-hitting John Daly and international stars Miguel Angel Jimenez and Colin Montgomerie will be in the field of the PGA Tour Champions event to be played June 22-24 at University Ridge Golf Course.
Daly, a two-time major champion, won his first Champions title last year at the Insperity Invitational.

RIDGEDALE, Mo. (AP) — John Daly and Michael Allen took the second-round lead Friday in the cool and breezy Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf.
Daly and Allen shot an 8-under 46 on the Top of the Rock par-3 course with wind gusting to 15 mph and the temperature only in the high-50s at Big Cedar Lodge. They had three birdies on the front nine in alternate-shot play and added five more on the back in better-ball play to get to 13 under.

Daly has not played since he tied for 17th in the Senior PGA Championship on May 28. He was replaced in the field of the senior major beginning Thursday at Salem Country Club by Ted Tryba, an alternate from the Florida sectional qualifier.

HOLLISTER, Mo. (AP) — Tiger Woods will design an 18-hole golf course south of Branson, Missouri, that will be named after the late Payne Stewart, a Missouri native who won 11 PGA events before dying in a plane crash in 1999.
Woods made the announcement Tuesday with Johnny Morris, founder and CEO of Bass Pro Shops, who owns the land where the new course — to be called Payne's Valley — will be built.
