EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — The Chicago Blackhawks scored five goals in the third period to stay on a roll.
Patrick Kane had a goal and an assist and the Blackhawks scored four goals in less than a three-minute span of the third in a 6-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday.
CHICAGO (AP) — Morgan Rielly scored 19 seconds into overtime, John Tavares had three goals and the Toronto Maple Leafs spoiled Chicago's home opener with a wild 7-6 victory over the Blackhawks on Sunday night.
Auston Matthews added two goals and two assists for Toronto in the opener of a four-game trip. Rielly also had two assists and Kasperi Kapanen finished with a goal and an assist.

CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Blackhawks have agreed to two-year contract extensions with forwards Vinnie Hinostroza and John Hayden.
The 24-year-old Hinostroza set career highs with seven goals and 18 assists in 50 games last season. The 23-year-old Hayden had four goals and nine assists in 47 games with Chicago before finishing the season with Rockford of the American Hockey League.
The team announced the deals on Friday. Each contract runs through the 2019-2020 season.
A person with direct knowledge of the decision tells The Associated Press that the Chicago Blackhawks have placed veteran defenseman Cody Franson on waivers.
The person spoke on the condition of anonymity on Monday because the Blackhawks did not announce the move made a day after Franson did not play in a 4-1 win over Edmonton. Franson had played in the four previous games after missing seven with an upper-body injury.
SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) — The goals are finally starting to come for some of the Chicago Blackhawks.
Jonathan Toews had a goal and two assists and Corey Crawford made 37 saves in his 400th NHL game to help the Blackhawks beat the Florida Panthers 4-1 on Saturday night.
Toews scored only his third goal in 17 games, and one was an empty-netter.
CHICAGO (AP) — Artem Anisimov did his usual dirty work. He went to the front of the net and waited for an opportunity.
He was rewarded with his first career hat trick — against one of his former teams, too.
Anisimov scored three times in the third period, Nick Schmaltz had three assists and the Chicago Blackhawks cooled off the New York Rangers with a 6-3 victory Wednesday night.
