TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama had trouble protecting another late lead, but regrouped in time to topple No. 22 Mississippi State.
Donta Hall scored 19 points, John Petty added 13 and Riley Norris had 11 as Alabama beat Mississippi State 83-79 Tuesday night.
With 14:35 left in the game, Alabama's (13-7, 4-3 Southeastern Conference) lead was at 14. But, once again, the lead wasn't safe and dwindled down to just three points with 42 seconds left in the game.
Petty, Hall lead Alabama past No. 20 Ole Miss 74-53
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama has a reputation of losing large first-half leads. Against No. 20 Mississippi, Alabama's lead didn't just hold up, it grew.
The Crimson Tide built a 16-point lead by halftime and extended that advantage to 28 points on the way to a 74-53 blowout win over Ole Miss.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama's first outing without Collin Sexton was a fruitful one as the Crimson Tide pounded Southern — Avery Johnson's alma mater — 82-62 on Tuesday night.
Johnson, who graduated from Southern in 1988 as the program's all-time assist leader, was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Jaguars' Alumni Association. His team put on a show for him during the contest.
Donta Hall scored 20 points and grabbed five rebounds while John Petty added 17 points.

A two-time Alabama Mr. Basketball as a Huntsville prep star, Petty returned to his home town and scored 18 points, including a pivotal 3-pointer in a Crimson Tide rally, to help Alabama to an 80-79 victory over Mercer on Tuesday night in the Rocket City Classic.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — When Alabama needed him most, Collin Sexton came to the rescue in the Crimson Tide's 68-64 victory over Rhode Island on Wednesday night.
Alabama's star point guard left the game around the seven-minute mark of the first half after being poked in the eye while bringing the ball up the court. Sexton went to the locker room with a towel over his eye, and did not return until there was about six minutes left in the game.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — John Petty knocked down 10 of 13 beyond the arc to finish with 30 points and Alabama beat Alabama A&M 104-67 on Friday night.
In addition to the win, Petty also left the game with sole possession of the Alabama single-game record for made 3-pointers. The previous record of eight was originally set by Mark Gottfried in 1987 and was last matched by Riley Norris in January 2016.
Petty's 10 3-pointers also matched the fourth best single-game showing in SEC history.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama's freshman stars lived up to the preseason hype in their first game in front of the home crowd.
Collin Sexton had 22 points and five assists in his Alabama debut to lead the Crimson Tide to an 86-64 win on Tuesday night over Lipscomb.
The NCAA reinstated Sexton, a top 10 national recruit, after serving a one-game suspension for rules violations.
