LATROBE, Pa. (AP) — Tyler Matakevich wants to prove he can handle the job. Jon Bostic just wants to be on the field.
Matakevich and Bostic are competing for Pittsburgh's opening at inside linebacker after the Steelers did not use a draft pick on the position. The winner gets to start alongside veteran Vince Williams and an opportunity to help fill the massive void left by Ryan Shazier, who is out for the season while recovering from spinal stabilization surgery.
Indianapolis adds 2 more starters to injured reserve list
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indianapolis Colts put center Ryan Kelly and inside linebacker Jon Bostic on injured reserve Monday, ending their seasons.
Kelly missed the last three games with a concussion after sitting out the Colts' first four games with a broken foot. He was Indy's first-round draft pick in 2016 and started all 16 games.

Colts add free agent linebacker Jon Bostic to roster
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indianapolis Colts have signed inside linebacker Jon Bostic.
Terms of the deal were not released.
Bostic has played four seasons in the NFL, most recently with Detroit in 2016. The 6-foot, 245-pounder has started 18 of 40 games and has 140 tackles.
Allen Park — The Detroit Lions were a little more banged up than usual during Sunday's practice. The team was down nine players for the session, including two offensive tackles and three defensive backs.
Latrobe, Pa. — The Detroit Lions may have lost another player to a long-term injury during the team's second joint practice with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Linebacker Jon Bostic had to be carted off the field after suffering an apparent leg injury early in the session.
