WASHINGTON (AP) — Tuukka Rask made 24 saves, David Krejci scored and the Boston Bruins beat the Washington Capitals 1-0 on Sunday to snap a 14-game skid against the defending Stanley Cup champions.
Boston beat Washington for the first time since March 29, 2014. The Bruins snapped a three-game skid and handed the Capitals their eighth loss in nine games.
Rask earned his 253rd victory to take over first place on the Bruins' career list.

MONTREAL (AP) — Jonathan Drouin and Max Domi simplified their games night by putting more shots on net.

Rasmus Ristolainen scored at 1:38 of overtime to lead the Buffalo Sabres to a 6-5 victory over the Canadiens on Thursday night.
Vladimir Sobotka and Jeff Skinner each scored twice and Conor Sheary added a goal for the Sabres.
Linus Ullmark gave up five goals on 32 shots through two periods. Carter Hutton came in and made five saves in the third.
Armia lifts Canadiens past Islanders 4-3 in shootout
NEW YORK (AP) — After his team's first four skaters in the shootout couldn't beat goalie Thomas Greiss, Montreal Canadiens coach Claude Julien decided to go with the right-handed Joel Armia instead of Charles Hudon.
The move paid off.
Armia scored in the fifth round on the first shootout attempt of his career to lift the Canadiens over the New York Islanders 4-3 on Monday night.

MONTREAL (AP) — Canadiens coach Claude Julien said it looked like Tomas Plekanec "drank from the fountain of youth" before playing in his 1,000th game Monday night.
Plekanec scored in his milestone game, and Jonathan Drouin added two goals to lead Montreal to a 7-3 victory over the winless Detroit Red Wings.

Alex Killorn and Jonathan Drouin scored power-play goals 1:51 apart late in the second period and the Lightning beat the Detroit Red Wings 5-3 on Thursday.
J.T. Brown, Andrej Sustr and Yanni Gourde also scored for the Lightning, who are three points behind Boston for the second Eastern Conference wild card. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 31 saves.
Gourde scores in OT, Lightning beat Blackhawks 5-4
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Yanni Gourde's second career goal capped a tremendous comeback by the Tampa Bay Lightning against one of the NHL's elite teams.
Gourde had a breakaway goal 4:25 into overtime and the Lightning rallied from a three-goal deficit to beat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-4 on Monday night.
Playing in his 13th game this season and 15th overall, Gourde beat Scott Darling after Victor Hedman set up the winner with his third assist of the game.

BOSTON (AP) — Nikita Kucherov helped the Tampa Bay Lightning get a big win in the playoff push.
Kucherov had his third career hat trick to lead Tampa Bay to a 6-3 victory over Boston on Thursday night, snapping the Lightning's three-game losing streak and helping them pull three points behind the Bruins for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
"It's huge," Lightning forward Jonathan Drouin said. "We didn't have room for error tonight, but we can't be too high on ourselves."

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Jayson Megna and Jack Skille both had two goals, Ryan Miller made 38 saves before leaving with six minutes left in the third period and the Vancouver Canucks beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 5-1 on Thursday night.
Erik Gudbranson also scored for the Canucks, who are 1-1 on a five-game road.
Miller skated to the bench and then went to the locker room. There was no immediate word on why he departed.

Vasilevskiy stops 32 shots, Lightning beat Flyers 3-0
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Tampa Bay's goaltending tandem of Ben Bishop and Andrei Vasilevskiy is doing its best to help the Lightning make up for the loss of Steven Stamkos.
Vasilevskiy made 32 saves for his second consecutive shutout, leading Tampa Bay to a 3-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.
Tyler Johnson, Ondrej Palat and Jonathan Drouin scored for the Lightning, who have won four in a row to improve to 12-6-1.
