BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Scott Hitchon scored a career-high 21 points with five 3-pointers and Canisius held on to beat Fairfield 72-68 on Friday night and take over first place in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
With Monmouth's loss to Rider on Friday, the Golden Griffins (12-13, 9-4) grabbed a half-game lead over the Hawks (9-5).
Salnave scores 17 to carry Monmouth over Fairfield 61-49
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — Ray Salnave had 17 points off the bench to carry Monmouth to a 61-49 win over Fairfield on Saturday.
Mustapha Traore had 16 points and nine rebounds for Monmouth (10-16, 9-4 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), which earned its fourth straight victory. Diago Quinn added nine rebounds.
The Stags' 27.1 field goal percentage represented the worst mark by a Monmouth opponent this season.
Fairfield scored 21 first-half points, a season low for the team.
Late surge lifts Fairfield over Marist 57-52
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) — Neftali Alvarez hit a go-ahead layup and scored 11 points, Jesus Cruz sank three free throws in the final 12 seconds and Fairfield scored the final seven points to beat Marist 57-52 on Saturday.
Fairfield rallies past Fairfield for 60-57 win
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — Jonathan Kasibabu had 17 points and nine rebounds on Thursday night and Fairfield used a late run to get past Saint Peter's 60-57.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) — Jonathan Kasibabu had 20 points and 14 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season, freshman Neftali Alvarez added 15 points and Fairfield beat Niagara 77-59 on Monday night.
The Stags held Niagara without a field goal for nearly seven minutes in the second half.

Marshall lifts Rider past Fairfield, 83-82 in MAAC opener
FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) — Tyere Marshall scored with 5.9 seconds left to lift Rider past Fairfield, 83-82 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opener for both schools Thursday night.
Rider held the lead twice: at 2-0 and again at the final buzzer. The Broncs, who had lost their previous two games, now have won the last three straight against the Stags.

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (AP) — Kahlil Dukes scored 22 points, Marvin Prochet and Matt Scott each had double-doubles and Niagara pulled away in the second half to beat Fairfield 95-83 on Saturday.

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (AP) — Frederick Scott had a career-high 25 points on Friday night and Rider led by double digits throughout the second half in a 96-77 win over Fairfield.
Scott made all three of his 3-point attempts in the first half while the Broncs (9-6, 2-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) led by as many as 17 and went into the intermission up 50-34. Scott grabbed eight rebounds, finished 5 of 7 from distance and made 8 of 11 overall from the field.
Manhattan holds off Fairfield 61-58 in MAAC opener
RIVERDALE, N.Y. (AP) — Pauly Paulicap scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds, Thomas Capuano hit a go-ahead 3, and Manhattan opened its conference schedule by holding off Fairfield 61-58 on Saturday night.
Zane Waterman scored 12 points and Zavier Turner added 11 for the Jaspers (6-7, 1-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), who outshot the Stags 48.8 percent to 35 percent and made 14 free throws to their 11.
COLLEGE ROUNDUP: Fairfield men defeat LIU Brooklyn
NEW YORK — Tyler Nelson scored a team-high 17 points and Jerome Segura added a season-high 14 and six assists to lead the Fairfield University men’s basketball team to a 76-72 win over LIU Brooklyn Sunday at the Barclays Center.
Nelson posted 13 second-half points while Segura added eight points in the half.
The Blackbirds came within two points of the Stags at 71-69, but Jonathan Kasibabu hit two free throws for a four-point lead for the Stags.
Milin’s double-double leads Fairfield over Loyola (MD) 64-52
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — Matija Milin totaled 18 points to lead four players in double-figure scoring and grabbed 11 rebounds to power Fairfield to a 64-52 victory over Loyola (MD) on Tuesday night.
Loyola led 16-8 in the first half after Andre Walker's 3-pointer at the 9:35 mark, but the Stags (2-0) went on a 22-5 run that included back-to-back 3-pointers by Ferron Flavors Jr., to lead 30-21 at halftime.

LEWISTON, N.Y. (AP) — Jonathan Kasibabu scored 16 points, added nine rebounds, and Fairfield closed out the regular season with a 62-58 win over Niagara on Sunday.

Fairfield made just one of its first seven shots from the floor as it fell behind 10-4. After the deficit grew to 13-4, Jonathan Kasibabu’s three-point play pulled Fairfield within seven. JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) — Cavon Baker and Antwon Portley each hit 4 of 5 from 3-point range and scored 14 points apiece to help Saint Peter's beat Fairfield 74-55 on Sunday for the Peacocks' fifth win in a row.
Trevis Wyche and Samuel Idowu each scored 11 for Saint Peter's (16-12, 12-6 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). The Peacocks hit a season-high 15 3-pointers on 25 attempts and shot 54 percent overall to maintain at least a share of second place in the conference standings.
Sidibe’s 19 points, 14 boards help Fairfield beat Marist
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) — Amadou Sidibe matched a career high with 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead Fairfield to a 73-53 victory over Marist on Thursday night.
Tyler Nelson added 17 points and six assists, Jerry Johnson made five 3-pointers and had 16 points, and Jonathan Kasibabu scored 10 with five assists for the Stags (12-11, 7-7 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Fairfield shot 52 percent overall and even a bit better from the arc with 11-of-19 shooting.
Cobb’s 46 points power Fairfield past Manhattan, 97-79
NEW YORK (AP) — Curtis Cobb scored a career-high 46 points and Fairfield rode a big first half to a 97-79 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference win at Manhattan Thursday night.
Cobb hit 9 of 12 3-point shots and was 16 of 23 overall from the field. Cobb drilled six 3-pointers in the first half as the Stags built a 54-33 lead. He now has scored 20 or more points five times this season.
Cobb's previous career best scoring night was 26 points against Sacred Heart November 11.
Fairfield beats Boston College 89-83 in Birth of Basketball
UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — Curtis Cobb and Tyler Nelson each scored 20 points to lead Fairfield over Boston College 89-83 Wednesday in the Birth of Basketball at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Jerry Johnson Jr. added 17 points for Fairfield (6-4), which ended a two-game losing streak to the Eagles (6-6) and earned its first win over an Atlantic Coast Conference school. The Stags, who had lost three straight coming in, had beaten BC during the 1998-99 season when the Eagles were in the Big East.
