JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Logan Lee says one of the reasons parents sign up their children for karate is because of issues the children have with bullying.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that Jamie Pernell Horns pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and possession of a firearm in the shooting death of 68-year-old Lenard Sumner.

Health officials say anyone who ate at the restaurant on Dec. 22 or Dec. 23 should seek medical care if they develop symptoms such as fever, nausea, fatigue and jaundice.

Authorities say 25-year-old Antariouse Caldwell was arrested Wednesday at a motel outside of Jonesboro. FBI Atlanta office spokesman Kevin Rowson says a woman recognized a tattoo on Caldwell's neck and alerted authorities.

Gabo, a 7-year-old German shepherd, was shot four times when he entered the apartment of Brenda Thomas, 56, following a five-hour standoff. Police returned fire and fatally shot Thomas.

Sgt. Lyle Waterworth of the Jonesboro Police Department says 19-year-old Flando Cortez Edward Montgomery surrendered Saturday afternoon after detectives identified him as a suspect. Waterworth says the second suspect, 21-year-old Tarus Bedford, surrendered about 8:15 p.m. Saturday.
1 killed, 3 wounded in shooting at Arkansas residence
JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Police in northeastern Arkansas say one person was killed and three others wounded when two people entered a home and began firing.
Jonesboro police said in a statement that the shooting occurred Wednesday evening in the southeastern part of the city.
Authorities did not provide a motive in the shooting and the two suspects remained at large late Wednesday.

Body found in car submerged in lake at park in Georgia
JONESBORO, Ga. (AP) — A body has been found in a car submerged in a lake in Georgia.
Police spokeswoman Officer Marcena Davis says the car was spotted around 11 a.m. Sunday in a lake at Clayton County International Park. News outlets report that the body was later found sitting in the driver's seat.
Davis says there are currently no obvious signs of injury that could determine the cause of death.
Prosecutor: Police shooting of woman in standoff justified
JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — A prosecutor says police in northeast Arkansas won't face any charges for fatally shooting a woman to end a five-hour standoff that began when she shot a maintenance worker at an apartment complex.
Prosecutor Scott Ellington said in a letter released Tuesday that Jonesboro police officers were justified in shooting Brenda Thomas, 56, last week. Police say 41-year-old Dennis Mardis was shot and wounded by Thomas when he checked on her welfare.
Georgia man accused of stabbing his brother to death
JONESBORO, Ga. (AP) — Authorities in Georgia say a man is accused of stabbing his brother to death in front of their family.
