HAMMOND, La. (AP) — Marlain Veal scored 22 points with four assists, three rebounds and three steals and Southeastern Louisiana beat Lamar 76-69 on Wednesday night for its first conference win.
The Lions (5-12, 1-3 Southland Conference) snapped their eight-game skid with a 26-for-50 shooting effort while making 18 of 22 from the foul line. Southeastern Louisiana overcame its 16 turnovers with the help of Lamar's 23 personal fouls.
Atwood helps Lamar get untracked for 61-55 win over A&M-CC
BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) — T.J. Atwood scored 22 points and Lamar had a big second half to defeat Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 61-55 on Saturday.
The Cardinals (8-7, 1-1 Southland Conference) entered the game averaging almost 82 points but trailed 22-18 at halftime as both teams shot less than 30 percent.

BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) — Josh Nzeakor was perfect from the floor, knocking down seven field goals to total 19 points and helped Lamar to dominate NAIA's Huston-Tillotson 79-59 on Tuesday night.
Lamar celebrated the opening game of the season by scoring 17 unanswered points to start, rolling to a 44-22 halftime advantage. The Rams won the second half 37-35 but it was not enough to catch Lamar.

MORAGA, Calif. (AP) — Saint Mary's got a big lift from backup center Jordan Hunter when he hit a 3-point shot from midcourt just before halftime.
Jock Landale, who starts ahead of Hunter, added his own signature moment early in the second half with a midcourt steal and a soaring dunk that helped get the 12th-ranked Gaels back on track after suffering their first loss of the season.
Josh Boyd has already started against a Final Four team from a season ago.
Jordan Hunter is a starter for a team that has averaged 22.8 wins the past five seasons.
