Wyoming uses post players off bench to vary game speed
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Allen Edwards likes to use the word "aggressive" rather than "fast" or "up-tempo." But however you word it, the second-year head coach has brought a different speed to the Wyoming men's basketball team.
Now, Edwards' Pokes are adding another gear.
With Edwards trying out some new lineups to keep senior forwards Alan Herndon and Hayden Dalton fresh, the Cowboys, at times, are using a slower offense that runs more through the post.

The Wyoming junior center knows how to run because he has played basketball for a good part of his life.
However, a back issue, coupled with working on his running technique, have limited his abilities to get healthy and be effective on the court.

Wyoming holds off San Jose State 80-70
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Jordan Naughton had 15 points, Louis Adams added 14 and Wyoming held off San Jose State for an 80-70 win on Wednesday night.
Jason McManamen and Justin James added 10 points each for the Cowboys (13-6, 3-3 Mountain West). Brandon Clarke had 19 points and Ryan Welage scored 14 for the Spartans (9-8, 2-4).
UW men’s basketball team enjoying Conway’s football success
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming men's basketball team might not have wanted Austin Conway to leave, but it's clear he knew what he was doing.
Conway redshirted last year with the basketball Cowboys but decided after spring ball to play for the football team instead.
In his first season, the freshman receiver has passed for a touchdown, returned a punt for a touchdown and ran for a touchdown.
Naughton, Gorski score 20 each, Wyoming downs Western 88-49
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Jordan Naughton had 20 points and 12 rebounds, both career highs, to help Wyoming beat Division II Western State 88-49 in Friday night's opener under first-year coach Allen Edwards.
Alexander Aka Gorski scored a career-high 20 points, hitting 5 of 8 from long distance, and made four assists for Wyoming. The Cowboys shot 52.5 percent, including 14 of 34 3-pointers, and held the Mountaineers to 32 percent, just 6 of 21 behind the arc.
