No. 7 UCF, Memphis not strangers to AAC championship game
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — There are no shortcuts in unbeaten UCF's quest for perfection.
The seventh-ranked Knights (11-0, 8-0, No. 8 CFP) are one victory away from their second straight American Athletic Conference championship, a likely New Year's Six bowl bid, and bolstering their argument that they are deserving of consideration for a berth in the College Football Playoff.
None of that is possible, though, without beating Memphis (8-4, 5-3) in Saturday's AAC title game.
No. 8 UCF remains unbeaten, but loses QB Milton in 38-10 win
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — McKenzie Milton's teammates crowded around the injured UCF quarterback, some kneeling in prayer and others offering comforting words.

No. 8 UCF has goals beyond beating archrival South Florida
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — No. 8 UCF isn't content with having the nation's longest winning streak. The Knights want more. A lot more.
The defending American Athletic Conference champions can complete a second consecutive undefeated regular season by beating intrastate rival South Florida on Friday.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — No. 11 UCF is becoming predictable as the Knights pursue another undefeated season.

"We talk about it every day. ... Outside noise has no impact on what we are," coach Josh Heupel reiterated.

No. 9 UCF faces Temple in key American Conference matchup
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Josh Heupel, whose ninth-ranked UCF Knights have the nation's longest winning streak, calmly answered another question about whether he feels the American Athletic Conference is underappreciated.

Without Milton, No. 10 UCF beats ECU 37-10 for 20th straight
GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — No. 10 UCF didn't have its Heisman Trophy hopeful, so the Knights' opportunistic defense kept taking the ball from East Carolina and giving it to their backup quarterback.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — With No. 10 Central Florida struggling and the nation's longest winning streak in jeopardy, first-year coach Josh Heupel decided to take a gamble.

WHAT'S AT STAKE?

Heupel takes over talented UCF team with great expectations
Josh Heupel has either the most difficult job of any head coach in the country taking over a new team or the easiest. Maybe it's both.
Hired to replace Scott Frost at Central Florida, Heupel takes over a team that went unbeaten last season and declared itself the national champion. Most of the playmakers return from one of the best offenses in the country, including gifted quarterback McKenzie Milton.
Missouri hoping to build off Lock’s return, strong finish
COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — When former Missouri offensive coordinator Josh Heupel left to become the head coach at Central Florida last year, it meant that Tigers quarterback Drew Lock would play his senior season with a third offensive coordinator in four years.
