ATLANTA (AP) — Former USC forward Jordan Usher has transferred to Georgia Tech and will be eligible for spring semester in 2019.
Usher, from Canton, Georgia, averaged 8.6 points and 3.7 rebounds in 12 games, including two starts, this season for the Trojans. He averaged 4.8 points and 2.0 rebounds as a freshman in 2017-18.
The 6-foot-7, 225-pound Usher has enrolled for spring semester at Georgia Tech. His transfer was announced by Yellow Jackets coach Josh Pastner.

Knowing there's little chance the Yellow Jackets will finish at .500 or better in the Atlantic Coast Conference, Pastner has turned his attention to developing young players in hopes of making next year's team relevant in league play.

The 6-foot-4 guard announced his decision Monday. The draft will be held June 21.

ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia Tech point guard Jose Alvarado will miss the remainder of the season after fracturing his left elbow.
Coach Josh Pastner said Monday X-rays showed the fracture. The injury, suffered when Alvarado fell on his arm in Sunday's 80-69 loss to No. 9 Duke, initially was described as a dislocated elbow.
Pastner said the fracture will require a recovery period of six to eight weeks, meaning Alvarado also is ruled out for the postseason.

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — A Tucson-area couple has filed a lawsuit against Georgia Tech basketball coach Josh Pastner, claiming sexual assault and sexual battery by the former University of Arizona standout.
Tucson TV station KOLD reports the suit was filed Thursday in Pima County Superior Court by former Georgia Tech booster Ron Bell and his girlfriend, Jennifer Pendley.

ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia Tech, which already has two players suspended for NCAA rules violations, has announced sophomore guard Justin Moore also will miss two games for an undisclosed rules violation.
Also, assistant coach Darryl LaBarrie has been placed on paid administrative leave while Georgia Tech investigates an alleged violation of NCAA rules.

Georgia Tech suspends Jackson, Okogie for accepting benefits
ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia Tech suspended starting basketball players Tadric Jackson and Josh Okogie indefinitely Thursday after learning they accepted benefits in violation of NCAA rules.
Georgia Tech says the two players will not accompany the team to China for its season opener against UCLA on Nov. 10. The length of the suspensions will be determined by the NCAA.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — A state audit notes that Memphis athletic director Tom Bowen had a conflict of interest while renegotiating former basketball coach Josh Pastner's contract in 2013 because they had the same agent at the time.
The audit also showed Pastner's updated contract was not submitted to the Tennessee Board of Regents for approval, as was required for contracts exceeding $100,000.

Lawson brothers leaving Memphis’ basketball program
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — K.J. Lawson and Dedric Lawson are leaving Memphis' program, which leaves the Tigers without two of their top three scorers and their top two rebounders from this season.
Memphis coach Tubby Smith said in a university statement that he learned Wednesday that the Lawson brothers were planning to ask for their release from the university. Smith said he was notified after meeting with the Lawsons and their parents.
