ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) — Jimmy Boeheim had 21 points as Cornell narrowly beat Brown 70-66 in overtime on Friday night.
Josh Warren had 18 points for Cornell (13-10, 5-2 Ivy League). Matt Morgan added 15 points and six rebounds.
Obi Okolie had 15 points and seven rebounds for the Bears (14-9, 2-5). George Mawanda-Kalema added 14 points. Tamenang Choh had 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Defense shines as Cornell tops Harvard 67-61
BOSTON (AP) — Jimmy Boeheim had 16 points as Cornell got past Harvard 67-61 on Saturday night.
Matt Morgan added 15 points for the Big Red, who forced a season-high 24 turnovers. Morgan had seven turnovers but only three assists for the Big Red.
Josh Warren had 14 points and five assists for Cornell (12-10, 4-2 Ivy League). Steven Julian added eight rebounds.
Aririguzoh leads Princeton past Cornell 70-61 in OT
ITHICA, N.Y. (AP) — Richmond Aririguzoh scored 20 points as Princeton beat Cornell 70-61 in overtime on Saturday night.
The Tigers went ahead for good, 60-59, on an Aririguzoh dunk early in overtime and Cornell was held to just five points in the extra period.
Aririguzoh was 6 of 6 from the field and 8 of 10 from the line for the Tigers (12-5, 4-0 Ivy League), who have won seven straight. Myles Stephens added 15 points and eight rebounds and Ryan Schwieger had 14 points and five rebounds.
Cornell beats Penn for first time in last 12 meetings
ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) — Matt Morgan scored 25 points and led a game-ending run that gave Cornell an 80-71 win over Penn on Friday, beating the Quakers for the first time in their last 12 meetings.
Morgan scored in double figures for the 70th consecutive time in his career, passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the 22nd longest streak in NCAA history. He also tied Yale's Butch Graves (1980-84) at No. 3 on the Ivy League's all-time scoring list at 2,090 points.
Columbia gets first Ivy League win downing Cornell 73-70
NEW YORK (AP) — Gabe Stefanini scored 24 points including two from the foul line with five seconds left and Columbia held off Cornell for a 73-70 win on Saturday night.
Riley Voss' 3-point bank-shot attempt from about 28-feet out caught the iron and bounced around the rim before falling out as time expired.
Morgan breaks records in 86-74 Cornell win over Towson
TOWSON, Md. (AP) — Matt Morgan hit a school-record nine 3-pointers and finished with a career-high 38 points to help Cornell beat Towson 86-74 on Wednesday night for the Tigers' fourth straight loss.
Morgan became the sixth player in Ivy League history to score at least 2,000 career points. The senior guard also set a school record for career free throws with 438, breaking Louis Jordan's 60-year-old mark of 435, and is just five points shy of Ryan Whitman's school-record 2,028 points.
Keleaf Tate’s 3-pointer lifts Niagara over Cornell, 77-74
NIAGARA, N.Y. (AP) — Keleaf Tate made a 3-pointer with one second remaining and Niagara defeated Cornell 77-74 on Sunday despite trailing most of the second half.
Cornell's Matt Morgan made two free throws to tie it at 74 with 10 seconds remaining and set up the exciting finish. After Niagara's Marvin Prochet missed a 3-pointer with three seconds left, Dominic Robb grabbed the offensive rebound and passed to Tate who drained the game-winner. Morgan missed a desperation 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Rayman’s 16 leads Colgate over state rival Cornell 73-57
ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) — Will Rayman led a balanced attack with 16 points and Colgate used a big run in the second half en route to a 73-57 win over Colgate on Sunday, the Raiders' third straight victory over their rivals in the Central New York Hoops Classic.
Dana Batt and Jordan Burns added 14 points apiece and reserve Malcolm Regisford, who matched Batt's 6-for-8 shooting, added 12 for the Raiders (2-1).
Morgan spearheads Cornell past Lafayette 80-71
ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) — Matt Morgan scored 26 points and Stone Gettings scored 13 with nine rebounds and Cornell downed Lafayette 80-71 on Wednesday night.
The Big Red led 45-35 at intermission before a 7-3 Lafayette run trimmed the deficit to five. Later, Josh Warren hit a jumper, Morgan had consecutive layups and a jumper, Joel Davis scored 10 straight points and Cornell was up 74-60. Lafayette didn't draw within single digits until 27 seconds remained.
Petrasek’s 31 helps Columbia top Cornell 79-75 in Ivy opener
ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) — Luke Petrasek scored a career-high 31 points as Columbia defeated Cornell 79-75 in an Ivy League opener on Saturday.
Petrasek shot 11-for-14 from the floor and was a perfect 7-for-7 at the free throw line, including two with four seconds left that pushed the Lions' lead to three points.
Mike Smith scored 17 points and Nate Hickman 15 for the Lions (7-7, 1-0), who've won three straight. Jeff Coby grabbed 10 rebounds.
