Longwood takes out High Point 68-55 in Big South Tournament
HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) — Charles Glover and Isaiah Walton each scored 14 points and Longwood upset High Point 68-55 on Tuesday night in the first round of the Big South Tournament.
Longwood jumped to a 25-7 lead after the first 11-plus minutes as High Point shot 2 of 10 from the field and had 10 turnovers. The Lancers led 37-26 at halftime and cruised in the second half.
High Point edges Radford 61-60 with a Fox FT and a block
RADFORD, Va. (AP) — Andre Fox made one of two free throws with 19 seconds left and Justyn Mutts blocked a final shot and High Point held on for a 61-60 win over Radford Wednesday night.
Proctor, Fox lead High Point comeback to top Liberty, 71-60
HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) — Jahaad Proctor and Andre Fox combined to score 46 points as High Point came from 13 points down in the second half to beat Liberty, 71-60 in a Big South contest on Thursday night.
The win snapped a four-game losing streak to the Flames.
Fox hit a 3-pointer with 11:17 left that got High Point even at 45-45. After trading layups, Fox hit a jumper, two free throws and a 3 to give the Panthers a 54-47 lead.
High Point pummels Johnson & Wales (NC) 90-54
HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) — Andre Fox had 14 points and four assists, Justyn Mutts added 10 points, five rebounds and three blocked shots and High Point ran away from Johnson & Wales (N.C.) 90-54 on Friday night.
Cliff Thomas Jr. finished with a career-best 12 points and six rebounds for the Panthers (3-4), who had 12 players contribute points.
Majerle Poole scored 17 for the Wildcats, but he hit just 1 of 9 from 3-point range as Johnson & Wales shot just 25 percent from beyond the arc.
The Citadel rallies past High Point 79-77
HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) — Preston Parks hit three 3-pointers and scored 16 points and The Citadel rallied in the second half to turn back High Point 79-77 on Saturday.
Andre Fox sank a 3-pointer with 6:33 left in the game to give High Point a 65-58 lead, but the Bulldogs (3-2) put together a 15-0 run to seize control. Parks and Kaelon Harris turned steals into layups to begin the run and Parks buried a 3-pointer to cap the run and give The Citadel a 73-65 lead with 2:20 left to play.
