Walker, Whittington propel Kent St past Western Michigan
KENT, Ohio (AP) — Jaylin Walker scored 23 points and handed out five assists and Philip Whittington added 13 points and a career-high 15 rebounds to lead Kent State to an 88-73 victory over Western Michigan on Tuesday night.

KENT, Ohio (AP) — Antonio Williams scored 22 points with five rebounds and four assists and Kent State closed out its four-game homestand with a 104-84 win over Savannah State on Tuesday night.
Mitch Peterson's 3-point play six minutes in put Kent State (4-1) ahead 21-6. The Golden Flashes went on to a 63-38 halftime lead and extended the margin to 42 at 91-49 when Akiean Frederick made a layup with 11:12 left.
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Tulane coach Mike Dunleavy Sr. says sophomore guards Kain Harris and Von Julien, as well as freshman forward Darian Jones, have been granted releases from the men's basketball program and will transfer.
Dunleavy, in a news release Wednesday, said all three are great kids and he wishes them the best.
Harris, of Chicago, was Tulane's fourth-leading scorer in 2016-17, averaging 9.1 points and 18.4 minutes per game.
SMU pulls away from Tulane in second half, 80-64
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Semi Ojeleye scored 21 points and Jarrey Foster added 19 more to lead SMU to an 80-64 win over Tulane on Sunday night.
Ben Moore contributed 15 points and Shake Milton got 11 to go with nine rebounds for SMU (15-4, 5-1 American Athletic Conference), which hit 31 of 61 from the field. Ojeleye and Foster each had three 3-pointers.
Crawford, Lawson score 24 each; Memphis routs Tulane 80-59
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Markel Crawford and Dedric Lawson scored 24 points apiece as Memphis routed Tulane 80-59 on Sunday.
Lawson was 9 of 16 from the field and grabbed 10 rebounds. Crawford was 8-of-11 shooting and made five 3-pointers. K.J. Lawson chipped in 13 points for Memphis (12-4, 2-1 American), which has won five of its last six games.
UCF rallies to beat Tulane 85-72 behind Williams
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Matt Williams scored 21 points and made five 3-pointers for his 201st career 3 and UCF pulled away in the second half to beat Tulane 85-72 on Wednesday night in their American Athletic Conference opener.
A.J. Davis scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Tanksley Efianayi scored 14, and UCF made 25 of 45 field goals (55.6 percent) to Tulane's 24 of 62 (38.7 percent).
Harris has career-high, Tulane rolls over SE Louisiana 93-76
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Kain Harris had a career-high 19 points to help lead Tulane to a dominating 93-76 win over Southeastern Louisiana on Monday night.
Harris was 3 of 5 from beyond the arc, making 7 of 11 field goal attempts.
Ryan Smith had the first double-double of his career and had career best in points (14) and rebounds (10). Malik Morgan added 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds, Cameron Reynolds chipped in 13 points, and Colin Slater had 12 for Tulane (1-1).
