As Detroit Mercy continues its hush-hush search for a new men's basketball coach, the roster is deteriorating at a rapid pace.
Junior guard Josh McFolley, a former Detroit Western star and the third-leading scorer on the team last season, has decided to transfer for his final season, an athletic-department official confirmed Tuesday.
This comes after last month's revelation that guard Corey Allen, of Ypsilanti, will be transferring for his final two years of eligibility.
UIC uses late run to beat Detroit Mercy 94-87
CHICAGO (AP) — Marcus Ottey and Dikembe Dixson had 20 points each and UIC held off Detroit Mercy for a 94-87 win on Monday night.
The Flames (17-12, 12-4 Horizon League) pulled away with a 21-5 run to lead 84-67 on Clint Robinson's layup with 5:14 left. The Titans (8-21, 4-12) cut the deficit to seven at 89-82 and at the final score.
Detroit Mercy outlasts Youngstown State 94-84
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) — Kameron Chatman had his ninth double-double of the season with 26 points and 11 rebounds to help Detroit Mercy beat Youngstown State 94-84 on Friday night.
Chatman was 10 of 13 from the field and made one 3-pointer and all five of his foul shots. Roschon Prince added 16 points and seven rebounds for the Titans (8-20, 4-11 Horizon), who had six score in double figures.
Nunn scores 28, leads Oakland over Detroit Mercy 87-78
ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP) — Kendrick Nunn scored 21 of his 28 points in the second half to help Oakland beat Detroit Mercy 87-78 on Friday night.
Oakland (16-10, 8-5 Horizon League) has won two in a row and seven of its last nine games. Detroit Mercy (7-19, 3-10) has lost six of its last seven.
Nunn, the second-leading scorer in the nation, made five 3-pointers, was 10 of 18 from the field and has scored 20 or more points in 19 games.
Dixson, Ferguson lead UIC by Detroit Mercy 78-69
DETROIT (AP) — Kikembe Dixson scored 23 points and Tarkus Ferguson added 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead UIC over Detroit Mercy 78-69 on Sunday.
The victory gave UIC (14-11, 9-3) its first six-game winning streak since taking eight straight during the 2012-2013 season, and the Flames have nine Horizon League wins for the first time since 2007-08. The Flames have also won six straight road games for the first time since 2003-04.
Chatman scores 21 in Detroit Mercy’s 74-60 victory
DETROIT (AP) — Kameron Chatman had 21 points with eight rebounds to lead all five Detroit Mercy starters in double-figure scoring in a 74-60 victory over IUPUI on Friday night.
Chatman, who had four assists and three steals, scored 12 points in the first half when Detroit took a 38-28 lead after shooting 52 percent and leading by as many at 18.
Wright State dominates Detroit Mercy 87-55
DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Grant Benzinger scored 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting to help Wright State dominate Detroit Mercy in an 87-55 win Friday night.
Loudon Love and Everett Winchester added 15 points apiece, Cole Gentry had 12 points and Jaylon Hall 10 for Wright State, which shot 56 percent and got 16 assists on its 32 baskets. Benzinger had four of the Raiders' eight 3-pointers.

Benzinger was 6 of 12 from the arc, leading a 9-of-20 3-point showing for the Raiders (11-5, 3-0 Horizon League). Cole Gentry added a career-high 14 points and freshman Loudon Love 13 points and a season-high 14 rebounds for his fifth double-double.
Bell, Stull lead Milwaukee over Detroit Mercy 87-79
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Jeremiah Bell scored 18 points, Brock Stull added 17 and each of them hit 3 of 6 from 3-point range to guide Milwaukee to an 87-79 victory over Detroit Mercy on Saturday night.

Green Bay beats Detroit Mercy 95-83 in Horizon League opener
ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (AP) — Sandy Cohen III tossed in 24 points to lead five players in double figures and Green Bay rolled to a 95-83 victory over Detroit Mercy in a Horizon League opener on Thursday night.

DETROIT (AP) — Desonta Bradford scored 21 points on Tuesday night and East Tennessee State led for the final 12 minutes in an 81-73 win over Detroit Mercy.
Jalan McCloud added 14 points for the Buccaneers (7-4), who bounced back from their first loss in the last six.
ETSU trailed 39-34 at the break but took the lead for good at 53-50 on a Jason Williams 3-pointer and pulled away with 10 straight to lead 67-55 on McCloud's layup with seven minutes to go.

Scott made a 3-pointer and a layup and the Mastodons were ahead 72-60 with 7:22 left to play before Detroit Mercy used a 13-2 run over the next couple of minutes to reduce the deficit to a point. Josh McFolley scored seven points during the run, including a 3-pointer, a layup and a pair of free throws.

Chatman scores game-winner, Detroit wins thriller 72-70
SAINT LOUIS, Mo. (AP) — Kameron Chatman drove in from the wing and flicked a jump shot past two defenders with two seconds on the clock and Detroit-Mercy battled past Saint Louis 72-70 on Wednesday night.
Saint Louis tried a heave from three-quarter court that sailed wide as time expired. The game-winner came in a contest where the teams swapped the lead seven times, had nine ties and neither led by more than eight. There were six lead changes and three ties in the final five minutes.
Nashville, Tenn. — Corey Allen made seven 3-pointers and scored a career-high 39 points, Jermaine Jackson Jr. made two 3-pointers in the final 10 seconds of regulation, and Detroit Mercy beat Houston Baptist, 116-109, in overtime on Sunday.
Detroit Mercy took an 89-87 lead with 2:31 left in regulation but didn't score again until Jackson's 3-pointer to get within 94-92. After Oliver Lynch-Daniels made 1 of 2 free throws with 7.8 seconds left for Houston Baptist, Jackson nailed a 3 off the glass.

DETROIT (AP) — Kameron Chatman scored 17 points to lead seven Detroit Mercy players in double figures Monday night and the Titans picked up their first win of the season with a 105-82 victory over NAIA program Michigan-Dearborn.
Chatman was 7 for 10 from the field, including a pair of 3-pointers, and hauled in seven rebounds as Detroit (1-1) recorded its third triple digit win over UM-Dearborn since 2013. The Titans shot 53.3 percent from the field and never trailed.
Virginia Tech beats Detroit Mercy 111-79 in season opener
BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) — Nickeil Alexander-Walker scored 24 points, Kerry Blackshear Jr. added 23 and Virginia Tech beat Detroit Mercy 111-79 on Friday night in a season opener.
Alexander-Walker, a six-foot-five freshman guard, was 9-of-14 shooting with four 3-pointers. Blackshear was 7 of 10 from the field and made 8 of 10 free throws. Ahmed Hill added 19 points, and Devin Wilson and P.J. Horne chipped in 10 points apiece.
Detroit — Bacari Alexander plans to more than double the University of Detroit Mercy's win total from a year ago and contend for the Horizon League title in his second year as the Titans head coach.
The Titans could be a force with the return of 6-foot-7, 260-pound senior inside threat Jaleel Hogan, along with perimeter threats in sophomore Corey Allen and Josh McFolley.
