Liberty holds off Stetson 57-54 behind Cabbil’s 19 points
LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) — Lovell Cabbil scored 19 points and Liberty held off Stetson 57-54 on Tuesday night to reach 20 wins the fastest in program history.
Caleb Homesley added 16 points and Scottie James had 10 for the Flames (20-5, 9-1), who remain second in Atlantic Sun Conference behind Lipscomb (18-4, 9-0).
Stetson outrebounded Liberty 42-31 but gave up 15 points off 16 turnovers and was outscored 32-20 in the paint.
Jacksonville beats Stetson behind Notae’s double-double
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — JD Notae scored 16 points with four 3-pointers and grabbed 14 rebounds for his third double-double of the season and Jacksonville beat Stetson 72-57 on Wednesday night, handing the Hatters' their eighth straight loss.
Jalyn Hinton scored 12 points off the bench and Dave Bell added 11 with eight boards for the Dolphins (10-13, 3-5 Atlantic Sun Conference), who won the rebound battle 49-25 but turned it over 20 times. Aamahne Santos dished six of Jacksonville's 16 assists.
NJIT gets ninth road win, stymies Stetson in 2nd half, 82-59
DELAND, Fla. (AP) — Zach Cooks scored 16 points and NJIT picked up its ninth road win of the season by beating Stetson, 82-59 in an Atlantic Sun game Thursday night.
The Highlanders now have won three straight and nine of their last 12. Stetson remains winless through six conference games.
