LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — No. 5 Kentucky got the strong start it sought against No. 1 Tennessee and for a moment was blowing out the Volunteers.
Most important was that the Wildcats finished off the Vols on a national stage, just what they needed days after letting one slip away.
PJ Washington scored 23 points, Keldon Johnson added 19 and Kentucky beat Tennessee 86-69 Saturday night to end the Volunteers' school-record, 19-game winning streak.

STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) — Kentucky coach John Calipari said he took a few moments following Saturday's game to praise his team for winning its 10th straight game thanks to some gritty plays in a difficult road environment.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — PJ Washington and No. 8 Kentucky hit the glass hard against No. 9 Kansas.
Washington scored 14 of his 20 points in the second half, and the Wildcats beat the Jayhawks 71-63 on Saturday in the SEC-Big 12 Challenge.
Washington, Reid Travis and Keldon Johnson powered Kentucky to a 49-36 rebounding advantage. Washington grabbed 13 boards, Travis had 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Johnson also posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

NEW YORK (AP) — Keldon Johnson caught the ball near center court and heaved in a prayer of a shot at the regulation buzzer that sent Kentucky players and fans into a pulsating frenzy.

No. 10 Kentucky rallies past UNC Greensboro 78-61
LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Seeing Keldon Johnson elevating for thunderous dunks and big rebounds almost made it easy to forget the Kentucky guard had limped to the locker room after rolling his left ankle in the first half.
The pain he felt on every landing reminded Johnson of what happened, but otherwise it wasn't a factor as he rallied the No. 10 Wildcats past UNC Greensboro.
"It's all in the flow of the game," he said. "You just have to keep fighting and not show any weakness."

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Coach John Calipari had few complaints about No. 10 Kentucky's domination of Monmouth.
The Wildcats not only shot well, they did so from long range for a change. Calipari was even more pleased by his team's defensive performance in its most complete victory this season.
Tyler Herro scored 16 points, Keldon Johnson added 15 and Kentucky cruised past Monmouth 90-44 on Wednesday night for its sixth straight victory.
Keldon Johnson leads No. 10 Kentucky past Tenn. St., 77-62
LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Keldon Johnson had a big night for No. 10 Kentucky but was more concerned about the bottom line.
Johnson scored a career-high 27 points to lead the Wildcats to a 77-62 win over Tennessee State on Friday night.
"It felt pretty good, but the main thing, we got the win," Johnson said. "I was playing aggressively and just kept attacking (the basket) and it eventually it opened up."
Kentucky coach John Calipari was pleased to see the freshman guard produce and finish underneath.
