PHOENIX (AP) — Make it 18 wins in a row for the Golden State Warriors over the Phoenix Suns.
The latest, though, was no cakewalk for the reigning NBA champions.
Stephen Curry shook off a poor shooting performance by scoring 10 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter and the Warriors finally broke open a tight game to beat the Suns 117-107 on Friday night.
Klay Thompson scored 25 points for the Warriors. Kevin Durant added 21 points and DeMarcus Cousins 18.
Mitchell, Jazz beat Suns 116-88
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Donovan Mitchell and the Utah Jazz put away the Phoenix Suns with one impressive finish.
Mitchell scored 21 points and Joe Ingles had a career-high 11 assists, leading the Jazz to a 116-88 victory over the lowly Suns on Wednesday night.
"Our communication picked up a lot in the second half," Mitchell said. "That really propelled us to get out in transition. Obviously, hitting shots helps, but we were really doing well on communicating well defensively."
Lillard leads Trail Blazers to 120-106 win over Suns
PHOENIX (AP) — It took a while, but the Portland Trail Blazers finally did what they were supposed to do with the depleted Phoenix Suns.
Damian Lillard scored 24 points, CJ McCollum and Jake Layman added 20 apiece and the Trail Blazers pulled away in the second half to hand the Suns their sixth straight loss, 120-106 on Thursday night.
The Trail Blazers beat Phoenix for the ninth straight time. Portland has won four of five and eight of 11 overall.
Kelly Oubre bringing energy, defense _ and style _ to Suns
PHOENIX (AP) — In less than a month in Phoenix, Kelly Oubre Jr. is bringing energy, defense and scoring — not to mention style — to the perennial last-place Suns.
Teammate Devin Booker said there's no use trying to top Oubre when it comes to the way he dresses away from the game.
"That's the fashion king, man," Booker said after the Suns practiced Monday. "I just stay out of the way."
It's an aspect of life that Oubre takes seriously. He even served as an intern at Esquire magazine two summers ago.

PHOENIX (AP) — Three weeks after coming to the Phoenix Suns, Kelly Oubre Jr. says he's starting to feel comfortable.
He sure looked that way against Sacramento on Tuesday night.
Oubre matched his career high with 26 points, including a one-handed rebound jam with 11.1 seconds to play, and the Suns snapped a six-game losing streak, rallying from a 21-point deficit to beat the turnover-prone Kings 115-111.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Bradley Beal and Kelly Oubre Jr. have matched up often in practice, and Oubre thought he knew what to expect in their reunion.

Beal had 40 points and his first career triple-double while squaring off against his former teammate, and the Washington Wizards beat the Phoenix Suns 149-146 in triple-overtime in the highest-scoring NBA game since 2008.

BOSTON (AP) — Devin Booker had 25 points and eight assists, and Deandre Ayton added 23 points and 18 rebounds to lead the suddenly resurgent Phoenix Suns past the Boston Celtics 111-103 on Wednesday night.
It was the fourth consecutive victory for the Suns since opening the season 4-24. Phoenix has its first four-game winning streak since March 2015.
T.J. Warren scored 21 points and Kelly Oubre Jr. had 13 for the Suns.
Booker, Ayton carry Suns past Celtics for 4th straight win
BOSTON (AP) — It appears the Phoenix Suns have finally figured things out.
Devin Booker had 25 points and eight assists, and rookie Deandre Ayton added 23 points and 18 rebounds to lead the suddenly resurgent Suns past the Boston Celtics 111-103 on Wednesday night.
"We had multiple conversations when we were losing early in the year," Booker said. "We looked around the locker room and said, 'Nobody's going to feel bad for us.'"

Wizards complete trade to acquire Ariza from Suns
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Wizards have completed a trade to acquire forward Trevor Ariza from the Phoenix Suns for forward Kelly Oubre Jr. and guard Austin Rivers.
Washington general manager Ernie Grunfeld announced the deal Monday after it was agreed to in principle over the weekend. Grunfeld called Ariza "one of the most effective, efficient and versatile players at his position for over a decade."

Washington agreed in principle Saturday to acquire Ariza from the Phoenix Suns for Kelly Oubre Jr. and Austin Rivers, according to a person familiar with the deal. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because it had not been announced by either team.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — The road trip was really long and not very forgiving for the Washington Wizards, all the way through the closing game in Memphis.
With Washington on fumes to close out a five-game trip, the Grizzlies used 20 points from Garrett Temple to send the Wizards to their fourth straight loss with a 107-95 victory on Tuesday night.

Ricky Rubio scored 21 points, Donovan Mitchell had 16 and the short-handed Jazz completed a season sweep of the Wizards with a 107-104 win on Wednesday night.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Otto Porter Jr. scored 26 points, Bradley Beal and Kelly Oubre Jr. had 21 each, and the Washington Wizards beat Houston 121-103 on Friday night for the Rockets' fifth straight loss.
The skid is Houston's longest since dropping seven straight from Jan. 9-19, 2013.
NBA scoring leader James Harden matched his season low with 20 points for Houston. Chris Paul returned after missing three games with a strained groin. He had eight points and six assists in 26 minutes.

Beal scored 38 points, Otto Porter Jr. had 19 and the Wizards never trailed in beating Toronto 107-96 on Sunday night, winning for the second time in 11 meetings with the Raptors.
Warriors’ Green takes issue with fine for fight with Beal
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Golden State star Draymond Green is taking issue with being fined $25,000 for a skirmish with Washington's Bradley Beal, saying he was trying to protect himself from Beal and players from the Wizards' bench.
On Sunday, the NBA fined Green and Beal for fighting during a game Friday night and also suspended Washington guard Carrick Felix and forward Markieff Morris one game apiece for leaving the bench area during the scuffle.
