The Spartans announced on Thursday that junior Kenny Goins will be "out of action for a couple weeks after suffering a mild sprain of his left knee."
It's the same knee Goins injured in February of 2016 that forced him to miss eight games before he returned for the NCAA Tournament. He then missed the bulk of the following summer as he recovered before appearing in all 35 games in 2016-17.

The school announced Goins' timetable Thursday and described the sprain as mild.
The 6-foot-7 Goins scored four points in 15 minutes in Michigan State's loss to No. 1 Duke on Tuesday night. He averaged 3.4 points a game last season.

Michigan State junior forward Kenny Goins will miss "a couple weeks" with a knee injury, according to the program's Twitter account.
According to the tweet, Goins suffered a "mild sprain of his left knee."
The 6-foot-7, 230-pound Goins played 15 minutes in Michigan State's 88-81 loss to Duke in the Champions Classic, chipping in four points, three rebounds and a pair of blocked shots. He averaged 3.4 points and 4.5 rebounds in 18.3 minutes a game last season.
