Bazemore scores 23 as Hawks beat Wolves 123-120 in OT
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — With the Hawks' momentum gone and a noisy sellout crowd cheering the Timberwolves, first-year Atlanta coach Lloyd Pierce made a bold prediction.
"I told our guys at the end of the third quarter, 'This is going to be our best win of the season,'" Pierce said.
It certainly wasn't their prettiest with 24 turnovers, but the Hawks made just enough hustle plays to overcome blowing a 22-point lead and beat Minnesota 123-120 in overtime Friday night.

John Collins helps Hawks snap 10-game skid

ATLANTA (AP) — Point guard Dennis Schroder will miss the Atlanta Hawks' final seven games with a medial bone bruise and a sprained left ankle.
The team said Schroder, its leading scorer, underwent an MRI on Friday. Expected recovery time is at least two weeks.
Atlanta has the NBA's second-worst record. Its season ends April 10.
The combination of gathered tension and free unwinding makes the buzzer-beater such an interesting shot to replay. Take Loyola Chicago’s Donte Ingram, jabbing one foot on the March Madness logo near center court with 2.5 seconds left, and then rising in the air and ruffling the net calmly from 30 feet as if he was dropping the ball off on the way to dinner. Nothing special about the shot at all — except the time on the clock and the way it ended, sending his team so improbably forward in the NCAA tournament.
