Police find 4 children who they say were taken by mom
LIMA, Ohio (AP) — Authorities searching for an Ohio woman who they say took her four children have found all of the children safe and unharmed.
Police in Lima (LY'-muh) say the four children, ages 8-13, were taken early Tuesday and authorities had warned they could be in danger.
Police say the children were found Tuesday afternoon in a house in Kenton and that the mother is in custody. The woman's boyfriend also was arrested on a warrant.

Sheriff: Ohio EMT killed after vehicle strikes ambulance
KENTON, Ohio (AP) — A county sheriff in central Ohio says an emergency medical technician has been killed after a motorist failed to yield and struck an ambulance.
Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart says in a statement that Saturday's crash killed Krista McDonald and seriously injured EMT Peggy Eastman and a passenger in the other vehicle.

Kent State athlete’s death ruled exertional heat stroke
KENT, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio coroner has ruled exertional heat stroke caused the death of a Kent State University football player after an offseason morning workout.
The Portage County coroner's office released the findings of an autopsy of Tyler Heintz on Monday. Heintz died June 13 after being hospitalized following conditioning drills at Dix Stadium.
2 Kentucky counties vote to increase hotel room tax
COVINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Two Cincinnati suburbs in Kentucky have increased taxes on hotel rooms to help pay for an expansion of a convention center.
The Kentucky Enquirer reports governing bodies in Campbell and Kenton counties unanimously approved increases of 1 percent earlier this month. Boone County leaders are expected to consider a similar proposal.
Freshman football player dies after morning workout
KENT, Ohio (AP) — A freshman football player at Kent State University has died following a morning workout.
The university says paramedics transported Tyler Heintz to a hospital following football conditioning drills at Dix Stadium on Tuesday.
The Portage County coroner confirmed his death that evening.
Amazon plans to build a second wind farm in Ohio
KENTON, Ohio (AP) — Amazon is planning to build a second wind farm in Ohio to help power three new data centers in the state.
The e-commerce retail giant says it will develop the wind farm in Hardin County and that it should be making electricity by the end of next year.
Amazon already is building a wind farm in Paulding County.
Hardin County officials in northwest Ohio say the newly announced project will be around $300 million.
Northern Kentucky counties get boost to combat illegal drugs
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A new federal designation putting three northern Kentucky counties in line for potentially more funding to combat illegal drugs comes at the right time, the leader of a regional drug strike force said Thursday.
As the Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force tries to choke off supplies of heroin and other illegal drugs, its director has to make sure there's enough money available to pay his officers overtime or to keep the agency's aging vehicles on the road.
