LOS ANGELES (AP) — These young Atlanta Hawks are growing up over halfway through the season.
Trae Young scored 26 points, John Collins added 22 and they beat the Los Angeles Clippers 123-118 on Monday night for the first time in nearly three years.
Atlanta had lost five in a row to the Clippers dating to March 5, 2016. The Hawks earned their first win against a Pacific Division opponent this season after dropping their first five.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — With the Hawks' momentum gone and a noisy sellout crowd cheering the Timberwolves, first-year Atlanta coach Lloyd Pierce made a bold prediction.

NEW YORK (AP) — Kent Bazemore and the Atlanta Hawks erased a tough start with a big finish.
Bazemore scored 22 points, John Collins had 17 points and 16 rebounds, and the Hawks rallied to beat the New York Knicks 114-107 on Friday night.
Atlanta trailed 39-28 after one quarter, but held New York to 38 points in the second half of its second straight win.
"For our guys to make a stand defensively was great to see," Hawks coach Lloyd Pierce said.
