Central Michigan (8-2) has won four of its last five games while Southern Utah (4-3) has lost three of four. The Chippewas avenged an 86-80 loss at Southern Utah last season that snapped a seven-game win streak.

Austin, a graduate transfer from Vanderbilt, shot 7 of 13 from the field. Matt Beachler made four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points for the Chippewas (2-0). Kevin McKay had 11 points and eight rebounds. Shawn Roundtree, last season's leading scorer, made a pair of 3s and chipped in eight points in 16 minutes.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) — Kevin McKay scored 18 of his 27 points in the second half on Tuesday night and Central Michigan beat Concordia (Michigan) 98-67.
McKay was 10 of 13 from the field and 7 of 10 from the foul line while making his first career start for the Chippewas. Shawn Roundtree added 18 points, Larry Austin scored 17 and David DiLeo had 11 points and nine rebounds.
The Chippewas scored the first 14 points and led by at least 10 points for the rest of the game.

Ronald Booth finished with 25 points on 11-of-25 shooting while Marcus Moore added 24 as Wayne State won its sixth in seven games, downing Northwood, 87-73, at the Matthaei Center.
With the victory, the Warriors (14-9, 12-6) clinched the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference South Division title.
Zach Allread scored 17 and Trey McBride added 16 to lead Northwood (10-16, 6-16).
E. Michigan uses late spurt to beat C. Michigan 72-67
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) — James Thompson IV posted his 19th double-double of the season and Elijah Minnie joined him and Eastern Michigan downed Central Michigan 72-67 on Saturday.
Thompson finished with 22 points and 14 rebounds and Minnie posted 13 and 10, respectively. Eastern Michigan (16-11, 7-7 Mid-American) outscored the Chippewas 16-9 in the final 3½ minutes to seal the win.
Ypsilanti — Elijah Minnie tossed in 24 points and James Thompson IV finished with his 18th double-double of the season to help Eastern Michigan hold off Miami (Ohio), 58-57, on Tuesday night.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) — Cecil Williams drove for a layup in the final seconds to secure Central Michigan's 73-69 win over Tennessee Tech on Saturday afternoon.
Tennessee Tech cut the margin to 70-69 when Mason Ramsey hit a hook shot with 27 seconds left. Central Michigan beat the ensuing full-court press as Kevin McKay found Williams cutting to the basket for the game-winning bucket. He was fouled on the play and converted the free throw for the final score.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) — Marcus Keene scored 23 points, Braylon Rayson had 22 and Central Michigan rolled to a 107-58 win over Marygrove on Thursday night.
Kevin McKay added 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Chippewas (3-0), who only led 40-30 at halftime.
Central Michigan had a 59-41 rebounding advantage and forced the Mustangs (1-8), an NAIA school in Detroit, into 25 turnovers.
