NEW YORK (AP) — Kurt Warner will replace Cris Collinsworth for two late-season NFL game telecasts.
The Hall of Fame quarterback will be the analyst with play-by-play announcer Mike Tirico for the Dec. 16 Chicago-Detroit game on NFL Network, and for the Christmas game of Pittsburgh at Houston on NBC and NFLN. Tirico has been joined by Collinsworth for most Thursday night games handled by NBC in the second half of the NFL schedule this year. Collinsworth has scheduling conflicts on Dec. 16 and 25.
Fitzgerald says he ‘choked up’ at Hall of Fame ceremony
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Larry Fitzgerald got "choked up" as a spectator at the Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony this weekend.
Listening to the stories of how those seven inductees arrived at this ultimate individual pro football honor impressed the star receiver.
Of course, Fitzgerald was there to watch Kurt Warner inducted.
"It was great be there, to be able to support a good friend and mentor," Fitzgerald said.

Arizona owner sends private jet to help Warner’s family
CANTON, Ohio (AP) — Kurt Warner's family made it to Canton for his Hall of Fame weekend thanks to help from Arizona Cardinals President Michael Bidwill.
Bidwill sent his private jet to pick up 13 members of Warner's family who were stranded at O'Hare Airport in Chicago. The quarterback, who will be inducted into the shrine on Saturday night, tweeted a thank you to his former boss for getting his relatives to Canton for the festivities.

The NFL's Man of the Year winner and a 10-time Pro Bowler and 2008 All-Pro, Fitzgerald is the franchise leader in nearly every receiving category. But he earned this award Tuesday "for his qualities and professional style in helping pro football writers do their jobs."

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Time is slipping away for the Arizona Cardinals in their quest for an heir-apparent to quarterback Carson Palmer.
Palmer is 37 years old. This coming season could well be his last.
General manager Steve Keim knows how important identifying and grooming Palmer's successor is to the viability of the franchise.
"I would like to keep my job for a while," he said. "I do have four small kids. ... If you don't have a quarterback, you are not going anywhere."
