LOS ANGELES (AP) — Jonathan Quick has delivered plenty of brilliant goaltending performances for the Los Angeles Kings, and Alec Martinez wasn't going to let the latest masterpiece go for naught.
Martinez scored with 2:13 left, Quick stopped 34 shots for his 50th career shutout and the Kings defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 2-0 on Sunday night.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Andrei Vasilevskiy made 44 saves, Steven Stamkos had a goal and an assist, and the NHL-leading Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Los Angeles Kings 4-3 Saturday night.
Tampa Bay also got goals from Alex Killorn, Cedric Paquette and Nikita Kucherov.
Jonny Brodzinski, Kyle Clifford and Christian Folin scored for the Kings, who nearly came back from a three-goal deficit entering the third period. Jonathan Quick stopped 13 of 14 shots after replacing Darcy Kuemper early in the second.

Budaj stopped 22 shots and his Los Angeles Kings killed off the final four penalties to win 3-0 in their last game before the All-Star break.
All-Star D Victor Hedman out for Lightning with illness
LOS ANGELES (AP) — All-Star defenseman Victor Hedman is sitting out of the Tampa Bay Lightning's game at Los Angeles due to an illness.
The Lightning made the announcement Monday, shortly before the opening faceoff.
Hedman participated in the pregame warmup, but left early. The Swedish defenseman missed a game for the first time this season.
Carter gets OT winner as LA Kings surge past Jets, 3-2
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Kings hit iron with an extraordinary number of shots Saturday night, culminating in a late backhand by Kyle Clifford that somehow struck both sides of Winnipeg's goal without going in.
"He can't hit the net, but he can hit both posts," Los Angeles defenseman Jake Muzzin said jokingly of his low-scoring buddy.

TORONTO (AP) — Peter Budaj is still filling in nicely for Jonathan Quick, and the Los Angeles Kings gave him plenty of help Tuesday night.
Jeff Carter scored twice during a four-goal second period, Budaj made 19 saves and Los Angeles thumped the Toronto Maple Leafs 7-0.
Budaj hasn't allowed a goal in 150:32 and has a 1.86 goals-against average while filling in for Quick, out with a lower-body injury since the opening game of the season.
Setoguchi, Budaj lead Kings to 5-0 win over Flames
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Devin Setoguchi scored twice and goalie Peter Budaj stopped 24 shots for his first shutout in three years as the Los Angeles Kings beat the Calgary Flames 5-0 on Saturday night.
Jeff Carter, Kyle Clifford and Trevor Lewis also scored for the Kings, who got their first regulation win this season. Budaj's shutout was his first since Oct. 28, 2013.
Calgary goalie Brian Elliott had 34 saves.
