Dodgers to send Reds $7M on Sept. 15 as part of trade
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers will pay Cincinnati $7 million on Sept. 15 as part of the seven-player trade that sent Yasiel Puig, Matt Kemp and left-hander Alex Wood to the Reds.
Pitcher Homer Bailey was sent to the Dodgers in the Dec. 21 deal along with minor leaguer infielder Jeter Downs and right-hander Josiah Gray. The Reds obtained catcher Kyle Farmer.
CHICAGO (AP) — Pinch-hitter Kyle Farmer doubled sharply down the left-field line with two outs in the ninth to drive in two runs, and the Los Angeles Dodgers came back to edge the Chicago Cubs 4-3 on Tuesday in the first game of a day-night doubleheader.
Farmer lined a 2-2 pitch from Justin Wilson into the corner after Wilson had walked pinch-hitter Austin Barnes and Justin Turner singled. Entering the game, Farmer was hitting .226, but was 5 for 15 as a pinch-hitter.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — It took a series of quirks for the Dodgers to end their three-game skid.
Kyle Farmer's sacrifice fly scored the go-ahead run in a sixth inning that included mistakes by Arizona's bullpen and helped Los Angeles beat the NL West-leading Diamondbacks 6-3 on Wednesday night.
SAN DIEGO (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers overcame a blown save by struggling Kenley Jansen thanks to a clutch hit by Yasmani Grandal.
Grandal hit a go-ahead, two-run double with one out in the 12th inning and the Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres 7-3 Tuesday night for their season-high third straight win.
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A bad plate of sushi or room service left Cody Bellinger weakened enough that he was held out of the starting lineup. Bellinger managed to summon enough strength to spark a key rally when the slumping Los Angeles Dodgers needed him most.
Bellinger overcame a bout of food poisoning to score the go-ahead run on Kyle Farmer's pinch-hit double in the 10th inning, and the Dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants 2-1 on Sunday to snap a four-game losing streak.

For love of the game: Puig’s infectious joy powers Dodgers
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Wagging his tongue, licking his bat and calling his shot, Yasiel Puig has powered the Dodgers' run to their first World Series appearance in 29 years.
Heck, the 26-year-old Cuban has even assigned himself a curtain call.
Puig's play and personality have been a huge hit on baseball's biggest stage. He's been shrewd at the plate and his arm is a cannon from the outfield. His emotional behavior has sparked the team while he's remained focused on the field.
