Their playoff hopes dashed, Ravens adjust sights for finale
OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) — From the moment they arrived at training camp in July through the waning seconds of their game in Pittsburgh on Sunday, the Baltimore Ravens worked in unison to achieve one overriding goal: qualify for the playoffs.
A sobering 31-27 defeat to the Steelers ended the Ravens' bid to reach the postseason, and it was evident Monday that it's going to take a lot longer than 24 hours to ease the feeling of disappointment.
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Ben Roethlisberger shook off a pair of interceptions to throw two late touchdowns, including a 4-yard strike to Antonio Brown with 9 seconds remaining to lift the Steelers to a 31-27 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night. Brown caught Roethlisberger's pass just short of the goal line and stretched the ball into the end zone with his left hand to cap a wild fourth quarter and give Pittsburgh (10-5) its second division title in three years.
Ravens collapse late, miss playoffs after loss to Steelers
PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Baltimore Ravens spent the better part of four months shadowboxing the Pittsburgh Steelers for control of the AFC North.
