DEKALB, Ill. (AP) — Justin Turner had a career-high 34 points as Bowling Green easily beat Northern Illinois 87-67 on Saturday.
Dylan Frye had 13 points for Bowling Green (18-7, 10-2 Mid-American Conference). Antwon Lillard added 10 points and six assists. Marlon Sierra had seven rebounds for the visitors.
Levi Bradley had 18 points for the Huskies (12-14, 5-8), whose losing streak stretched to five games. Eugene German added 15 points. Lacey James had 13 points.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) — Seth Dugan had 26 points and 11 rebounds as Western Michigan snapped its 10-game losing streak, narrowly beating Northern Illinois 76-74 on Tuesday night.
Michael Flowers had 14 points for Western Michigan (7-17, 1-10 Mid-American Conference). Jared Printy added 13 points. Kawanise Wilkins had nine rebounds for the home team.
Persons’ free throw lifts Ball State over NIU 72-71
DEKALB, Ill. (AP) — Tayler Persons hit six 3-pointers and scored 29 points, including the game-winning free throw with two seconds left, and Ball State beat Northern Illinois 72-71 on Tuesday night to end a four-game skid.
Walker’s 31 pts lead Kent State past N Illinois 78-68
KENT, Ohio (AP) — Jaylin Walker scored 31 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Kent State used a 50-point second half to beat Northern Illinois 78-68 on Saturday.
Antonio Williams scored 13 points with five assists for the Golden Flashes (14-4, 3-2 Mid-American Conference) and Akiean Frederick scored 12. Kent State won its second straight and now has tallied six wins in its last eight contests.
German scores 27, NIU uses big 2nd half to rally past Akron
DEKALB, Ill. (AP) — Eugene German had 27 points, seven rebounds and five 3-pointers and Northern Illinois used a big second half to rally past Akron 73-56 on Saturday.
Akron led 34-25 at halftime but NIU dominated the second half by outscoring the Zips 48-22. Akron only made four second-half field goals through the first 16 minutes, to trail 66-49 with 3:46 left, and the Huskies were shooting 75 percent at the same point.
Thorpe, German combine for 47, N. Illinois tops Miami (Ohio)
OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — Dante Thorpe scored 24 points on 10-for-15 shooting with five assists, Eugene German added 23 points and Northern Illinois broke away from Miami (Ohio) 83-70 Tuesday night.
German and Thorpe scored all 13 points as Northern Illinois (9-6, 2-0 Mid-American Conference) stretched its lead with a 13-2 run over 4 1/2 minutes late in the game.
James scores 20, NIU beats Ohio in overtime MAC opener
ATHENS, Ohio (AP) — Lacey James scored 20 points, including the tiebreaking free throws in overtime, and Northern Illinois beat Ohio 72-66 on Saturday in a Mid-American Conference opener.
James was fouled on a putback — he finished with 14 rebounds — and made two free throws for a 68-66 lead and added two more with 48 seconds left. He missed a pair seconds later but the Huskies retained possession and Levi Bradley added the final points at the line.
German helps Northern Illinois rout Bowling Green 93-62
DEKALB, Ill. (AP) — Eugene German didn't miss a shot and finished with 19 points as Northern Illinois routed Bowling Green 93-62 on Tuesday night.
German was 7 of 7 from the field and made all five of his free throws. Lacey James added 15 points for Northern Illinois (10-10, 3-4 Mid-American Conference), which had five players in double-figure scoring and snapped a two-game skid.
