Even though no charges were filed, the university said on Tuesday that Smith remained on administrative leave pending a school investigation.

San Diego made strides in the win column in coach Lamont Smith’s first two seasons, but the Toreros weren’t getting it done at the defensive end.
That didn’t sit well with Smith, named USD’s best defender in 1997 and 1999 during his playing days.

"We knew he could shoot the basketball. Nobody on their roster is a bum," Smith said after Krebs' 12 points helped trigger a 72-60 win by the No. 20 Gaels.
