Grizzly bear relocated in northwest Wyoming
LANDER, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has trapped and relocated a male grizzly bear in the northwest part of the state.
The bear was captured for frequenting residential areas and livestock calving pastures on private lands on the South Fork of the Shoshone River west of Cody.
Game managers moved the bear to the Bear Creek drainage about 10 miles northeast of Dubois. The release site is located in currently occupied grizzly bear habitat.
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Stock Growers Land Trust has completed a conservation easement project in Fremont County.
The trust says the easement covers 3 square miles (761 hectares) of deeded agricultural land on the Woolery Ranch.
The ranch is located south of Lander and the easement area borders another conserved property as well as public land. The property is home to crucial moose habitat as well as sage grouse habitat, and is adjacent to crucial habitat for elk and mule deer.
