Cousins, Porzingis, Lowry to play in NBA Africa Game
NEW YORK (AP) — DeMarcus Cousins of the New Orleans Pelicans, Kyle Lowry of the Toronto Raptors and Kristaps Porzingis of the New York Knicks will play for Team World in the NBA Africa Game.
Dirk Nowitzki and Kemba Walker had already been chosen as captains for Team World. The squad includes Portland's CJ McCollum, Detroit's Andre Drummond, Boston's Jaylen Brown, Denver's Wilson Chandler, New York's Courtney Lee and Leandro Barbosa, who most recently played with Phoenix.
PHOENIX (AP) — The Phoenix Suns declined a team option on guard Leandro Barbosa on Monday, saving the team $3.5 million in salary cap space.
The 34-year-old Barbosa had a $4 million contract for next season, with $500,000 guaranteed. The Suns are skewing their roster younger and though still productive, Barbosa's entire contract would have been picked up if he was on the roster past Monday.
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) — Phoenix guard Devin Booker is sitting out Sunday's game against the Detroit Pistons because of a sore right ankle.
The Suns are also without guard Ronnie Price (left leg), guard Leandro Barbosa (illness) and forward Dragan Bender (right ankle).
Booker shot 9 of 39 from the field over his previous two games.
Spurs win away again, top Suns 107-92
PHOENIX (AP) — The San Antonio Spurs continue to be the NBA's best road team.
The Spurs turned a close game early in the fourth quarter into a romp, getting 18 points and 10 rebounds from Kawhi Leonard and 18 points and nine boards from Pau Gasol in a 107-92 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night.
The Spurs (21-5) withstood the Suns' attempt to push the tempo after San Antonio had played Wednesday, and held Phoenix to 40 percent shooting. They improved to an NBA-best 14-1 on the road.
Eric Bledsoe scores 30, Suns hold off Lakers 119-115
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Not even Lou Williams' latest party-crashing performance could ruin Eric Bledsoe's birthday festivities with the Phoenix Suns.
Bledsoe had 30 points and nine assists on his 27th birthday, Leandro Barbosa added 21 points and the Suns snapped their three-game losing streak with a 119-115 victory over the slumping Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night.
Knight scores 23, bench leads Suns to 109-107 win over Hawks
PHOENIX (AP) — The Phoenix Suns' veterans are sometimes forgotten on a team with several players in their teens and early 20s. It was experienced players who made the difference Wednesday night, though.
Brandon Knight scored 23 points off the bench and Phoenix reserves combined for 54 as the Suns held off the slumping Atlanta Hawks 109-107 thanks to a key fourth-quarter run.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Brandon Knight and the Phoenix Suns' backups outlasted the Indiana Pacers on Friday night.
Knight scored 17 points and helped the bench players combine for an NBA season-best 78 points in the Suns' 116-96 victory over the Pacers.
Jared Dudley added 16 points, Alan Williams had 15 points, and Devin Booker and Leandro Barbosa 13 each. The Suns improved to 4-9 with their second road victory.

PHOENIX (AP) — The Phoenix Suns have agreed to a two-year contract with Brazilian guard Leandro Barbosa to return to the franchise, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.
The deal is for $4 million each year with $500,000 guaranteed for the second year, according to the person, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Wednesday because the deal had not been officially announced.
