Atlanta City Council declares vacancy; election in March
ATLANTA (AP) — The Atlanta City Council has declared a vacancy after the death earlier this month of Councilman Ivory Lee Young Jr., who served on the council since January 2002.
A special election to fill the unexpired term of the District 3 seat will be held March 19. If necessary, a runoff will be on April 16.
Qualifying will take place Wednesday, Jan. 23 through Friday, Jan. 25 from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at City Hall in the Municipal Clerk's Office.
Elder Bertha L. Young, the founder of the Holy Church of Christ Disciples, died on Monday, April 2, 2018. She was 86.
She was born on Aug. 25, 1931 to the late Elvin and Elizabeth Young in Newark, Md. She was the fourth of nine children. Her mother died she was just 12 years old. Later her father moved to Philadelphia with the eight younger children. Her oldest sister was married and remained in Maryland.

Convicted killer of 2 set to die next week gets reprieve
HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) — The state's top criminal court has stopped next week's scheduled execution of an East Texas man convicted of killing two men during a 450-mile (724.17-kilometer) crime trek across the state nearly 16 years ago.
Clinton Lee Young, from Ore City in Upshur County, was set for lethal injection Oct. 25 but the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals has sent his case back to his trial court in Midland for review.

The highly anticipated new Korean drama “Saimdang, Memoirs of Colors” starts this week. The female star of this series is Young-ae Lee who is making a return to the small screen after 14 years. Most will recognize her from one of the most popular drama in K-drama history, “Dae Jang Geum” in 2003. Lee plays Saimdang Shin, a famous artist and calligrapher in the 16th century Joseon era. The drama started in Korea during the last week of January and already has a strong viewer base. Lee got married to a Korean-American businessman at the Kahala Hotel and Resort in August 2009. Since then, the hotel has gotten the nickname of Lee Young-ae’s hotel to many Korean visitors.

3 men plead guilty to sex trafficking minor
BOSTON (AP) — Authorities in Massachusetts say three men have admitted to sex trafficking a minor.
U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz says 31-year-old Tyrell Gorham, of Lewiston, Maine; 34-year-old Lee Young, of Brockton; and 34-year-old Chelanjei Greene, of Brockton, pleaded guilty Wednesday in Boston.
