OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Liam Hendriks agreed to a $2.15 million, one-year contract with the Oakland Athletics and fellow right-hander Ryan Dull settled on an $860,000, one-year deal.
Oakland failed to offer contracts to right-handers Mike Fiers, Cory Gearrin and Kendall Graveman, allowing the trio to become free agents.
Dull had six stints with the A's last season, going 0-0 with a 4.26 ERA in 28 relief appearances.
Open and shut: A’s out early again with wild-card loss
NEW YORK (AP) — Other than opening with a reliever on the mound, nothing was any different about this October for the Oakland Athletics.
Jackson only starting pitcher on A’s wild-card roster
NEW YORK (AP) — Edwin Jackson is the only starting pitcher included on the Oakland Athletics' roster for their AL wild-card game against the New York Yankees.

LEADING OFF: Yanks’ Severino gets wild-card do-over vs A’s
A look at what's happening around the majors today:
Luis Severino gets a wild-card do-over when he starts for the Yankees against Oakland in a winner-take-all matchup. Happ and Masahiro Tanaka despite a second-half slump.

A pitcher from Down Under who was happy to get medieval in New York.

The A's were able to make a quick swap of relievers on Saturday, activating Ryan Dull from the disabled list to take Hendriks' spot. Hendriks left Friday's series opener against Seattle in the middle of an at-bat in the eighth inning after throwing a pitch. Hendriks had made six appearances early in the season.

TORONTO (AP) — Steve Pearce became the latest Blue Jay to hit a game-ending home run.
Pearce hit a tiebreaking grand slam in the 10th inning and Toronto beat the Oakland Athletics 8-4 on Thursday to complete a four-game sweep.
"Hopefully we just keep the ball rolling," Pearce said. "We're getting down to the end of the season so we've got to step it up and this was a great series to get it started."
CHICAGO (AP) — Oakland Athletics pitcher Jharel Cotton and shortstop Chad Pinder have left Friday night's game against the Chicago White Sox because of injuries.

Manager Bob Melvin went to the mound and brought in right-hander Liam Hendriks. Cotton gave up three hits and did not allow a run.

HOUSTON (AP) — Astros manager A.J. Hinch joked that his team's improbable 4-3 win over the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday was premeditated.

OAKLAND -- The A's may not have been able to match their Nashville Triple-A farm team for pitching heroics Tuesday night, but they came awfully close.

In short, it was one of the best pitching nights of the year as Neal and relievers Liam Hendriks, John Axford and Ryan Madson faced just four batters...
ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. Evan Longoria is only 30 years old, but it seems as if hes been picking on Twins pitching for decades. Hes crushed homers against such long-ago Twins obscurities as Philip Humber, Bobby Korecky and Phil Dumatrait.

Longoria pulled his hands in to reach an 0-2 changeup from Berrios that was well inside, and somehow yanked the ball deep into the left field stands, helping power the Rays...
