Police say 35-year-old Michael Fitzherbert, of Hartford, was traveling north on Route 133 at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday when his car went off the right side of the roadway, struck the pole and came to rest on its roof.
Fitzherbert, who was not wearing a seat belt, was partially ejected and died at the scene of the crash.

BUCKFIELD, Maine (AP) — Maine State Police say a 24-year-old man was killed in a head-on collision after his vehicle crossed the center line.
Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland says the man was driving in Buckfield on Wednesday evening when he crashed head-on into a truck driven by a 55-year-old woman. The woman suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The road where the crash took place was closed for several hours but has since reopened.

Authorities say the man was wearing dark clothing and was struck by a truck late Wednesday afternoon. Officials say he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Massachusetts woman dies in crash with tractor-trailer
ORIENT, Maine (AP) — Maine State Police say a Massachusetts woman has died in a crash involving a tractor-trailer.
Authorities say 69-year-old Darlene Williams, of Charlton City, Massachusetts, was pulling out onto Route 1 in Orient on Thursday when a tractor-trailer driven by 72-year-old David Gardner crashed into the side of her SUV. State police say Williams wasn't wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Williams died at the scene. Gardener wasn't injured.
Maine killings labeled a domestic-violence homicide
RICHMOND, Maine (AP) — Maine State Police say the deaths of a couple in Richmond were a murder-suicide.
Detectives say 46-year-old Kirk Alexander Jr. used a 9mm handgun to kill 37-year-old Niomi Mello before turning the weapon on himself.
Police believe the killings took place late Friday or early Saturday in their mobile home. The bodies were found Saturday by Mello's 11-year-old son.
Police name man struck by passenger vehicle, tractor trailer
SACO, maine (AP) — Police have released the name of a 27-year-old man fatally struck by two different vehicles on the Maine Turnpike in Saco.
Maine State Police said police are investigating why Tyler Seaver was walking along the northbound lanes of the turnpike in Saco before the 3 a.m. crash Saturday.
Police say a car and then a tractor trailer struck the man. The drivers of those vehicles didn't receive injuries.

The Portland Press Herald reports that Richmond Police Chief Scott McMaster said the two bodies were found in a Richmond home Saturday. The cause of the deaths was not immediately available.

Truckers to salute toddler hit by tanker on highway
BANGOR, Maine (AP) — Drivers of dump trucks, motorcycles, busses and cars hope their planned convoy will bring joy to a two-year-old boy hit by a tanker truck on the highway.
The organizers of the convoy hope as many as 500 pickup trucks and other vehicles will participate on Oct. 27. Participant Troy Gamrat posted on Facebook that he doesn't want the boy growing up afraid of big trucks.
The toddler is recovering at a Bangor hospital from injuries he received Oct. 4.
State police looking for driver after dramatic crash
CLIFTON, Maine (AP) — Maine State Police are looking for the driver of a truck after it crashed and sparked a power outage.
Trooper Joshua Lander told WABI-TV that the truck traveled off Route 9 Thursday night, went airborne, snapped a utility pole in Clifton.
Lander said the driver wasn't at the scene, at home or in the nearby area.
Crash on remote road leaves 1 man dead
TOWNSHIP 34, Maine (AP) — Maine State Police say one man died in a crash on a remote rural road.
Police say 53-year-old Gary Haskell died late Wednesday morning when his pick-up went off a rural road in Township 34 in Hancock County. His truck hit a number of trees and overturned on its roof.
Lowell, Maine resident Haskell died at the scene and sustained severe trauma and injuries.

Authorities say the crash happened around 11 p.m. Tuesday at the off-ramp at Exit 161 on Interstate 95.

LINCOLN, Maine (AP) — Maine State Police say a woman who was standing outside of her parked vehicle on Interstate 95 was killed and her toddler son critically injured when a tractor-trailer struck them.
Police say the crash happened Thursday afternoon near Lincoln. Police say the woman's car was parked in the breakdown lane. Authorities say the victim was standing in the travel lane, holding her son, when she was struck.
The woman's son was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

The Sun Journal reports a recent bogus Craigslist ad promised free items up for grabs at a Greene, Maine property whose owner is away in Florida.

Police search Maine home of man missing for nearly a year

State police say they believe the last known contact with 66-year-old Guy Carmel of Greenbush was in March of 2017.

Trucker says he was shot at and robbed on Maine interstate
HOWLAND, Maine (AP) — Maine State Police say a truck driver hauling water along Interstate 95 was shot at and robbed by two highwaymen.
The trucker says he was driving in Howland Tuesday when two men in a red sedan shot at his truck while they were passing him. Troopers say both vehicles then stopped, and the victim was pulled out of his truck and robbed.
Police say the two men then fled. Troopers say the truck driver was not hurt, and were gathering evidence Wednesday throughout the day.

Authorities say the overdose was reported late Thursday at a home in Hollis. Responding police officers say they found several "one-pot" style meth labs in the house, including eight active labs and chemicals commonly used to manufacture meth.

Police say the New York City boy lost his grip while riding the zip line at Camp Caribou in Winslow around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday.
The boy struck his head on a metal rowboat during the fall, and he has been hospitalized in serious condition.
