Mason made nine 3-pointers, the most by a Big 12 player this season, and scored a career-high 40 points as the Bears stretched their winning streak to six games with a 90-64 victory over rival TCU on Saturday night.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — Both Baylor and West Virginia upset AP Top 10 teams on Saturday, but only one team got to build on that momentum.
Makai Mason scored a season-high 29 points as the Bears cruised to an 85-73 win over West Virginia on Monday night.
Baylor (12-6, 4-2 Big 12) survived a second-half comeback attempt to grab their fourth win in five games.
"Anytime you play a West Virginia team with Coach Huggins, you got to fight them for 40 minutes," Baylor coach Scott Drew said.
McClure scores 29 to help Baylor beat Oklahoma St. 73-69
STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — King McClure had totaled 17 points over the previous three games, including just four on Saturday, but he kept working hard and felt like he had a lot of support Monday night.
McClure had a career-high 29 points, nine rebounds and four assists to help lead Baylor to a 73-69 victory over Oklahoma State.
McClure scored 20 first-half points and hit a career-best seven 3-pointers — six before halftime.

WACO, Texas (AP) — Tristan Clark scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for his first double-double of the season and Baylor built on its momentum from a win over Oregon by walloping New Orleans, 84-44 Saturday night in its final tune-up before opening Big 12 play.

WACO, Texas (AP) — Baylor freshman Matthew Mayer scored 18 points and graduate transfer Makai Mason had 11 in his Bears' debut in their 81-54 victory over Nicholls State on Friday.
Mark Vital had 11 points, 11 rebounds and five assists for Baylor (3-1), which has won three in a row since being upset by SWAC team Texas Southern in its season opener. King McClure also had 11 points and Tristan Clark scored 10 on 5-of-7 shooting.
Mayer said there was a different vibe with Mason playing.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Miye Oni scored 20 points and Noah Yates added another 16 off the bench as Yale used a fast start to beat South Carolina State, 86-54 and break into the win column Tuesday night after dropping games to Creighton and Wisconsin over the opening weekend.
The Bulldogs raced through the first half, building a 53-22 advantage and cruised home.
Yale shot 25 of 57 from the field, but knocked down 13 of 37 shots from behind the arc and was 23 of 35 from the line.
