MADRID (AP) — Spanish police have arrested 29 people who they allege are involved in a drug trafficking ring.
Spain's Civil Guard says that their officers made the arrests on Tuesday after raiding several locations in the southern provinces of Cadiz and Malaga. Most of the arrests took place in the town La Linea de la Concepcion near the Iberia Peninsula's southern tip.

Unpaid Spanish players seek 2nd-division game postponement
MADRID (AP) — Spain's players' association on Friday joined the players of second-division team Reus in asking the country's soccer federation to postpone its next match because of the club's critical financial situation.
The association says that it made the request regarding Reus' match at Malaga on Sunday.
Reus only has 12 players because their former teammates left after not having been paid for over three months, thereby freeing them from their contracts.
Spanish police seize hashish, arrest 42 in drug operations
MADRID (AP) — Spanish police say they have seized 3.25 metric tons (3.64 short tons) of hashish in two operations against drug trafficking across the Strait of Gibraltar.
The Guardia Civil says in a statement Monday that police made 42 arrests and broke up what they believed to be one of most important drug smuggling gangs operating between Spain and North Africa.
Five boats and five vehicles used by the alleged gang were seized.
Spain police find 2 bodies in boat carrying migrants, drugs
MADRID (AP) — Spanish police have recovered the bodies of two Moroccans from a boat that reached Spain's coast after crossing the Mediterranean Sea with migrants and a hashish shipment.
Police said Sunday that they found the bodies along with two other people who were suffering from hypothermia on Saturday after they were alerted that a rubber boat had reached a beach near Malaga. Police believe one of the dead could be a minor.
SPANISH LEAGUE 2018-19: Huesca makes 1st-division debut
MADRID (AP) — The Spanish league begins this weekend with small club Huesca making its first-division debut and traditional teams Rayo Vallecano and Valladolid returning to the top flight.
The three promoted clubs replace Malaga, Las Palmas and Deportivo La Coruna, which were relegated last season.

Spain: Britons face fines for allegedly laser-beaming planes
MADRID (AP) — Spanish police say two British tourists — a father and son — face possible hefty fines for allegedly pointing laser beams at passenger planes arriving to the southern city of Malaga.
A National Police statement Thursday said the two men, aged 41 years and 15 years, had been spotted by a police officer pointing laser pens into the air at incoming planes from their hotel balcony at Torremolinos, just outside Malaga on Tuesday night.
BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Spain's maritime rescue service says it has saved 54 migrants, including two babies, trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea in a smugglers' boat.
A spokesman for the service says that the group, which included 13 women, was spotted by a cargo ship in waters east of the Strait of Gibraltar. The spokesman spoke anonymously in line with the policy of the rescue service.
