(AP) — Marlon Hunter and Jamall Gregory scored 18 points apiece and Malcolm Drumwright sank 1 of 2 free throws with 2 seconds left to help No. 4 seed Jacksonville State hold off fifth-seeded Tennessee Tech 73-70 on Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament.
The win sends the Gamecocks (21-11) to a semifinal game against No. 1 seed Murray State (24-5) on Friday.
Murray State’s Jonathan Stark named OVC player of the year
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (AP) — Murray State guard Jonathan Stark has been named the Ohio Valley Conference player of the year after leading the Racers to the league's regular-season title.
Austin Peay's Matt Figger was named OVC coach of the year and Austin Peay's Terry Taylor was named freshman of the year Tuesday. Tennessee State's Christian Mekowulu is defensive player of the year.
Award winners were selected by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.
Jacksonville State beats Tennessee Tech 51-44
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Christian Cunningham scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Jacksonville State beat Tennessee Tech 51-44 on Saturday night in a regular season finale with postseason implications.
The Gamecocks (20-11, 11-7 Ohio Valley Conference) came into the game tied with Tennessee Tech for fourth place in the OVC standings after upsetting Belmont 78-67 on Thursday. The win gives them the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament.
Jacksonville St. upsets Belmont, 78-67; tied for 4th in OVC
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Marlon Hunter turned a 3-point play and Malcolm Drumwright drilled a trey and Jacksonville State posted a 78-67 upset of Belmont in an Ohio Valley Conference thriller Thursday night.
With the loss the Bruins trail conference leader Murray State by two games and have a one-game lead over third-place Austin Peay. Jacksonville State is now tied with Tennessee State and Tennessee Tech for fourth place.
Austin Peay beats Jacksonville State 60-57
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Averyl Ugba scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Austin Peay beat Jacksonville State 60-57 on Saturday night.
Zach Glotta and Steve Harris added 11 points apiece for the Governors (16-12, 11-5 Ohio Valley Conference) who are third in the conference standings behind Murray State and Belmont.
Austin Peay scored first and led all the way taking a 31-21 advantage into the break.
Tennessee State turns back Jacksonville State 65-47
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Ken'Darrius Hamilton and Delano Spencer scored 15 apiece and Hamilton added seven rebounds to lead Tennessee State to a 65-47 victory over Jacksonville State on Saturday night.
SIU-Edwardsville knocks Jacksonville State out of 3rd, 75-67
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) — David McFarland scored 15 points, including a dunk to give SIU-Edwardsville a 10-point lead with a minute-and-a-half left to play, and the Cougars knocked Jacksonville State out of a three-way tie for third place in the Ohio Valley Conference with a 75-67 upset victory Saturday afternoon.

RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) — Malcolm Drumwright scored 20 points with four assists, Jason Burnell added 15 points with eight rebounds and Jacksonville State beat Eastern Kentucky 68-60 on Saturday night for their fourth win in five games.
Norbertas Giga scored 12 points for the Gamecocks (15-6, 6-2 Ohio Valley Conference), who were outrebounded 44-31, but shot 41 percent from the floor while holding the Colonels to 35 percent. Jamall Gregory had five assists and three steals.

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Averyl Ugba scored a season-high 35 points and hot-shooting Austin Peay rolled past Jacksonville State 87-67 on Saturday night.
Ugba, a senior transfer forward from Grambling, made 17 of 21 shots and grabbed 11 rebounds for his fifth double-double with the Governors (10-8, 5-1 Ohio Valley), who came in having lost six straight road games but won at JSU for the first time since 2011.

Drumwright, Jacksonville State hold off Howard late, 62-60
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Malcolm Drumwright's jumper with nearly three minutes to play proved to be the game winner as Jacksonville State held off Howard for a 62-60 victory on Monday night.
Drumwright tied the game at 59-59, but RJ Cole stole the ball, drew a foul and hit the first of two free throws to give the Bison the lead, 60-59 with 3:03 left. Drumwright hit again with 2:45 left to make it 61-60 and added a free throw about a minute later to set the final score.
Jacksonville State beats SC Upstate 77-61
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Malcolm Drumwright scored 13 points, Christian Cunningham had 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Jacksonville State never trailed in beating South Carolina Upstate 77-61 on Saturday.

Oregon State slips past Jacksonville State 70-69
CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State coach Wayne Tinkle said his team showed grit and maturity, especially on defense, and especially when the game was on the line.
During a late timeout, he looked into his players' eyes. "They were engaged and were like, 'We're getting this stop. We're getting this win,' " Tinkle said.

Gregory, Spears help Jacksonville State to 86-71 victory
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Jamall Gregory scored 23 points and Ashton Spears posted a double-double and Jacksonville State defeated Savannah State 86-71 on Monday.
Gregory was 9-of-14 shooting with three 3-pionters and four blocks. Spears had 10 points and 11 rebounds. Four other Gamecocks score in double figures: Nobertas Giga had 14, Malcolm Drumwright scored 13 in surpassing 1,000 career points, and Maurice Dunlap and Christian Cunningham added 12 each.
Massinburg leads Buffalo to 81-76 win over Jacksonville St.
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — CJ Massinburg had 25 points, six rebounds and five assists and Nick Perkins scored 16 points to help Buffalo beat Jacksonville State 81-76 on Wednesday night.

Jamall Gregory and Malcolm Drumwright each added 11 points for Jackson State, which shot 55 percent (32 of 58) in its season opener. Jason Burnell added 10 points.
