Brewers reach $5,125,000 deal with Knebel for 2019
MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Milwaukee Brewers have agreed to a $5,125,000 deal for 2019 with reliever Corey Knebel.
The Brewers avoided arbitration with all their remaining players who were eligible, including Knebel, who went 4-3 with a 3.58 ERA and 16 saves last year in an injury-shortened season. He had 39 saves in 2017.
Milwaukee also reached one-year deals with third baseman Travis Shaw ($4,675,000) and pitchers Alex Claudio ($1,275,000), Zach Davies ($2.6 million) and Junior Guerra ($2,225,000).

NEW YORK (AP) — Catcher Yasmani Grandal and the Milwaukee Brewers have agreed to an $18.25 million, one-year contract, a person familiar with the negotiations tells The Associated Press.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity Wednesday night because the agreement, first reported by The Athletic, was subject to a successful physical.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Infielder Jonathan Schoop is getting his first start for the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 4 of the NL Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He is hitting sixth on Tuesday. Schoop replaces Travis Shaw, who started the previous two games.

Diamondbacks starter Robbie Ray drilled Pina in the left elbow with a pitch in the second inning, knocking the Brewers catcher flat. Grimacing in obvious pain, he eventually walked off the field accompanied by the trainer and manager Craig Counsell. Jett Bandy ran for Pina and took over behind the plate.

In the bottom of the first inning, Domingo Santana drove in Keon Broxton, who led off the inning with a triple to give Milwaukee a 1-0 lead.

Brewers get Bandy, deal Maldonado to Angels in catcher swap
MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Milwaukee Brewers acquired Jett Bandy from the Angels on Tuesday and Martin Maldonado is headed back to Los Angeles in an exchange of defensive-minded catchers.
The Brewers also sent minor league pitcher Drew Gagnon to Los Angeles in the deal.
Braun, Pina away from Brewers
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun and catcher Manny Pina are away from the team after their families each welcomed a new addition.
Braun and Pina have been ruled out for Tuesday night's game against Pittsburgh. Manager Craig Counsell expects Braun and Pina to return before the end of the week.
Braun's wife, Larisa, recently gave birth to a son, Greyson Joseph. The couple also has a daughter, Celine.
Walks hurt Tim Adleman, Reds in 7-0 loss to Brewers
CINCINNATI (AP) — The Great American Ball Park scoreboard often taunts opposing pitchers with ghosts and the message "Walks will haunt."
Tim Adleman didn't need the reminder Wednesday night.
The Cincinnati rookie right-hander walked three Milwaukee batters and they all scored while the Brewers were building a 4-0 lead on their way to a 7-0 victory.
