NEW YORK (AP) — Rangers coach David Quinn has set a new tone for his team and the priority has been to outwork opponents.
Marc Staal, Lias Andersson, Chris Kreider, and Mika Zibanejad scored, and Henrik Lundqvist made 29 saves as New York defeated the Ottawa Senators 4-2 Monday night.
"It's a hardworking team," Rangers forward Kevin Hayes said. "If you are not working hard, you are not playing. That's coach's rules. We work hard every night and we are kind of building an identity here."

NEW YORK (AP) — Two of the New York Rangers' younger players helped veteran goalie Henrik Lundqvist get a big milestone win.
Filip Chytil and Brett Howden scored to back Lundqvist's 437th career win as the Rangers beat the Vancouver Canucks 2-1 Monday night. Lundqvist tied Jacques Plante for seventh place on the NHL's all-time list.

GREENBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — After missing the playoffs for the first time in eight years, the New York Rangers are going all in on a makeover.
Several star players were jettisoned at the trade deadline for youngsters and draft picks, there's tough decisions to be made with free agents, and they're seeking a new coach to lead the way.
"We all know there's going to be some changes during the summer," veteran goalie Henrik Lundqvist said.

NEW YORK (AP) — Given three power-play chances in the third period, the New York Rangers converted them all in a comeback victory over Columbus.
Michael Grabner had two goals and the Rangers scored four times in the third to rally past the Blue Jackets 5-3 on Monday night for their fourth straight win.
Kevin Shattenkirk, Chris Kreider and Pavel Buchnevich scored in the third for the Rangers. Mika Zibanejad had an assist on all three power-play goals.

McDonagh leads Rangers to 4-1 win over Red Wings
DETROIT (AP) — The New York Rangers are getting plenty of offense from their defense.
Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh scored twice and New York defeated the Detroit Red Wings 4-1 on Sunday night for its NHL-leading 25th road win.
Derek Stepan got his first goal since Jan. 17, and Kevin Hayes also scored for the Rangers.
New York's defense added three more points — McDonagh's two goals, and an assist by Marc Staal. That gave the group 10 goals and 29 points in the past 15 games.
