NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Jermaine Marrow had 15 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists to help top-seeded Hampton beat No. 9 seed Florida A&M 75-71 on Wednesday night in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinal.
Hampton (19-14) moves on to a Friday semifinal and will face the winner of Thursday's North Carolina A&T-Norfolk State game.
Florida A&M beats Howard 88-78 in MEAC first round
NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Elijah Mayes had 27 points and six assists to lead Florida A&M to an 88-78 victory over Howard on Tuesday in the first round of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament.
The ninth-seeded Rattlers (9-24) will face top-seed Hampton (17-14) in a Wednesday quarterfinal.
Mayes was 8 of 13 from the field with four 3-pointers, Marcus Barham added 20 points, Desmond Williams 17 and Justin Ravenel chipped in with 14.
Mayes, Williams help Florida A&M beat South Carolina State
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Elijah Mayes scored a career-high 25 points, Desmond Williams added 24 points and a career-high 15 rebounds and Florida A&M beat South Carolina State 76-74 on Monday night.
Mayes was 9-of-15 shooting while Williams made 6 of 11 from the field and hit all 12 of his free-throw attempts. Marcus Barham added 20 points for FAMU (8-23, 7-8 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).

Morgan State dominates Florida A&M 74-48
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Tiwian Kendley scored 24 points and Morgan State held Florida A&M to 18 first-half points on its way to a 74-48 win on Monday night.
David Syfax added 17 points and 10 rebounds and Stanley Davis scored 13 for the Bears (10-15, 6-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), who led 38-18 at halftime and had their largest lead at 67-40.
It was Morgan State's first road win since a 69-63 victory over Mount St. Mary's on Nov. 27, snapping a 12-game road losing streak.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Desmond Williams scored 16 of his 21 points in the second half and Florida A&M held off North Carolina Central 65-56 on Saturday night.
Williams also grabbed eight rebounds, Marcus Barham added 20 points and Elijah Mayes scored 13 for the Rattlers (5-22, 4-7 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).
Florida A&M trailed 46-42 in the second half but rallied with a 19-3 run to lead 61-49 with 2:37 left.
UMES ends 7-game skid, beats Florida A&M 62-61
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) — Logan McIntosh scored 13 points Monday night and hit two free throws with 6.4 seconds left to help Maryland-Eastern Shore end a seven-game skid 62-61 over Florida A&M.
Ahmad Frost led the Hawks (6-19, 2-8 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) with 19 points and Miryne Thomas had 16 points and 11 rebounds.
UMES trailed 57-52 before Frost hit a 3-pointer with 3:10 left that sparked a 10-4 run to close the game. McIntosh's 3-point play with two minutes to go made it 58-57.

BALTIMORE (AP) — Chad Andrews-Fulton scored the go-ahead layup with 12 seconds left in double overtime and Coppin State beat Florida A&M 79-78 on Monday night, ending the Eagles' 20-game losing streak dating to last season.

BALTIMORE (AP) — Tiwian Kendley and Phillip Carr combined to score 67 of Morgan State's 87 points as the Bears beat Florida A&M, 87-68 in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference battle on Saturday afternoon.
The victory is Morgan State's 35th in the 59-game history of the series.
Carr hit a free throw, a layup, a 3-pointer and a dunk as the Bears (6-9, 2-0) opened up a 20-5 lead over the first seven minutes of the game. Kendley hit a pair of 3s to help fuel the start.
Florida A&M weathers a winter storm to beat Howard 84-76
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Desmond Williams and Elijah Mayes combined to score 47 points and Florida A&M held off Howard, 84-76 to win the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference opener for both schools Wednesday night.
A winter storm forced the closure of the Tallahassee campus and icy conditions and light snow hampered travel in the area, but the scheduled doubleheader with men's and women's games went off as scheduled.

STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi State used a balanced scoring attack Saturday and a 20-4 run to open the second half en route to a 79-48 win over Florida A&M.
Nick Weatherspoon, Quinndary Weatherspoon, Lamar Peters and Abdul Ado all had 12 points to lead Mississippi State (2-0). Tyson Carter added 10 points.

Grand Canyon beats Florida A&M 67-51
PHOENIX (AP) — Fiifi Aidoo and Joshua Braun had 11 points each on Friday night and Grand Canyon built a big lead early to beat Florida A&M 67-51 in the season opener for both teams.
The Antelopes pulled away late in the first half, going on a 13-0 run while keeping the Rattlers scoreless for nearly six minutes to lead 31-14 on Keonta Vernon's layup with 2:59 left in the period. Vernon finished with eight points and nine boards.
South Carolina State handles Florida A&M 75-64
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — Eric Eaves scored 22 points, Greg Mortimer pumped in 20 more and South Carolina State pulled away from Florida A&M for a 75-64 win Saturday.

The win also snaps a season-long seven game losing streak and gives the Wildcats their first road win of the year.
Morgan State fends off FAMU 62-59, remains unbeaten in MEAC
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Kyle Thomas matched a career-high with 19 points and Morgan State defeated Florida A&M 62-59 on Tuesday to remain undefeated in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
Morgan State (6-10, 3-0) last started MEAC play 3-0 in the 2013-14 season. The Bears ended the first half on a 22-12 run to lead by 11 and never trailed after that. Phillip Carr scored 16 points with 10 rebounds for the Bears.
Dandridge’s late layup lifts Florida A&M over Coppin State

HAMMOND, La. (AP) — Davon Hayes scored 29 points and drilled seven 3-pointers and Southeastern Louisiana routed Florida A&M 108-69 on Monday night.
Moses Greenwood hit 10 of his 12 shots for 23 points and Eddy Polanco added 13 for the Lions (6-4), who are 5-0 at home this season and topped the 100-point barrier for the first time since January 2015.
Southeastern Louisiana hit 14 3-pointers and shot 58 percent overall.
Florida A&M beats Johnson University 100-91
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Desmond Williams and Marcus Barham scored 17 points apiece and Florida A&M beat Johnson University 100-91 on Thursday night.
Florida A&M has scored 194 total points in its past two games — both wins — and topped 100 points for the first time since the season opener last season against Johnson.
Florida A&M beats Trinity Baptist 94-62.
