Howard had 22 points and 13 rebounds, and the Hornets stopped a four-game slide by topping the lowly Magic 104-102 on Wednesday night.
Kemba Walker had 20 points for Charlotte on 6-for-19 shooting. Nicolas Batum added 14 points and seven assists in the Hornets' 10th straight win against the Magic.

LaVine broke for a tiebreaking dunk after stealing an inbounds pass in the closing seconds, Lauri Markkanen scored 21 points and the Bulls beat the Orlando Magic 105-101 on Monday night.

Starting for the injured Aaron Gordon, Hezonja shot 7 of 14 from the field and 4 of 9 on 3-pointers as the Magic won their third road game in the last 24. They dropped Miami to just 13-11 at home.

ATLANTA (AP) — Orlando leading scorer Aaron Gordon will miss the game against the Hawks because of a concussion, further draining the short-handed Magic.
The 6-foot-9 Gordon, averaging 18.5 points per game, was injured Friday as the Magic lost to Denver. Mario Hezonja will start in Gordon's spot Saturday night.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — MRI test show Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon had suffered no serious damage but does have a bone bruise to his right foot.
Magic coach Frank Vogel said Thursday morning that Gordon is listed as day-to-day and will miss Thursday night's home game against Philadelphia. Gordon's return to the lineup will depend on how he responds to treatment.
