Jovan Mooring scored a career-high 31 points with six 3-pointers, Shakur Juiston had 19 points and 12 rebounds and UNLV beat No. 23 Nevada 86-78 on Wednesday night in a Governor's Series matchup to snap the Wolf Pack's 16-game home winning streak.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Marvin Menzies' first season at UNLV did not go as planned. He had to throw together a last-minute recruiting class, injuries mounted and so did the losses, leading to the worst season in Runnin' Rebels' history.
A top-20 recruiting class, headlined by five-star forward Brandon McCoy, should be just what Menzies needs to get UNLV headed back in the right direction.

Morgan no longer part of UNLV’s program
LAS VEGAS (AP) — UNLV forward Dwayne Morgan will continue to receive financial support from the university as he works toward graduation in December, but will not be a member of the Runnin' Rebels basketball team.
Coach Marvin Menzies said in a statement Tuesday that Morgan did everything asked of him after being suspended by the team for an arrest for disorderly conduct in May. Morgan was arrested after a dispute with a cab driver.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — UNLV junior forward Dwayne Morgan was suspended indefinitely from the team following his arrest last weekend on a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge in a dispute with a taxi driver over cab fare.
Associate athletic director Andy Grossman said Wednesday that Morgan was suspended from all team activities following a meeting with coach Marvin Menzies.
Grossman says the team is still collecting information about the arrest on Saturday.

Vice President for Athletics Paul Krebs announced the selection Tuesday. Weir will be formally introduced during an afternoon news conference.
Weir set a school record with 28 wins with New Mexico State., leading the Aggies to a Western Athletic Conference tournament championship and an NCAA berth.
Three UNLV players leaving the program
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Three UNLV players say they are leaving the program after one season under coach Marvin Menzies.
The school announced Wednesday that Tony Baxter Jr., Zion Morgan and Jalen Poyser will not return next season.
Poyser played for previous coach Dave Rice and stuck around after the hiring of Menzies last year. The sophomore guard averaged 10.4 points and 2.6 assists in 31 games last season, including 21 starts.
