Coach Moriyasu goes with youth in Japan squad for Asian Cup
TOKYO (AP) — Southampton's Maya Yoshida and Salzburg's Takumi Minamino have been included in a Japan squad that will be missing Shinji Okazaki and Shinji Kagawa at next month's Asian Cup.
The Jan. 5-Feb. 1 tournament in the United Arab Emirates will be Japan's first Asian Cup under head coach Hajime Moriyasu, who has a record of four wins and a draw since succeeding Akira Nishino after the World Cup in Russia.

TOKYO (AP) — Keisuke Honda was among 26 players named by Japan coach Vahid Halilhodzic on Thursday for two friendlies against Mali and Ukraine at the end of March.
Honda, who hasn't played for Japan since September's World Cup qualifier against Saudi Arabia, has four goals in 11 games for Mexican side Pachuca this season.
Japan takes on Mali on March 23 and Ukraine on March 27. Both games will be held at Stade Maurice Dufrasne in Liege, Belgium.
Puel gets revenge on Southampton as Leicester wins 4-1
SOUTHAMPTON, England (AP) — Leicester manager Claude Puel took revenge on former club Southampton by guiding his new team to a 4-1 win in the Premier League on Wednesday.
Puel was fired by Southampton in the offseason, despite taking the team to a League Cup final and an eight-place finish in the league.
He was given another chance in England's top division by Leicester and he is making the most of it, having won four of his seven games in charge — including the last three — and losing only once.
Crouch scores late winner as Stoke beats Southampton 2-1
STOKE, England (AP) — Stoke striker Peter Crouch came off the bench to score an 85th-minute winner in a 2-1 victory over former club Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday.
Crouch poked in from close range for a goal that will have come as a relief for the player he replaced, Saido Berahino, who had a penalty saved to stop Stoke from going 2-0 ahead.
Japan defender Yoshida signs for 3 more years at Southampton
SOUTHAMPTON, England (AP) — Japan defender Maya Yoshida has signed a new three-year deal at English Premier League club Southampton.
The center back, who is the only Japanese player to have played 100 games in England's top division, is tied to Southampton until 2020.
Yoshida, who joined in 2012 from Dutch side VVV-Venlo, said Thursday "it's my home and I'm very happy to continue my journey with Southampton."
