Police capture man after escape from western Kentucky jail
HICKMAN, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky State Police say a man has been captured after an escape from the Fulton County jail.
Police said 34-year-old Timothy R. Richardson of Shepherdsville was apprehended Wednesday in Mayfield after being pursued from Fulton County on the Purchase Parkway. State police said troopers used stop sticks to deflate Richardson's tires.
Richardson was charged with second-degree escape and auto theft. Police said Richardson escaped early Wednesday.

MAYFIELD, Ky. (AP) — Authorities say a Kentucky man has died in a farming accident.
The Paducah Sun reports Graves County sheriff's deputies found 71-year-old Ronald Alderdice under an all-terrain vehicle on Monday around 11 a.m.

Police said in a statement that officers from the Mayfield Police Department responded to a report early Friday of an armed man walking along a street. Police say they found a man believed to be the subject in a nearby yard and shortly afterward shots were fired and the man was hit.

LEBANON, Ohio (AP) — An Illinois man accused of kidnapping his estranged girlfriend from Kentucky and fatally shooting her along a highway in Ohio has been found guilty of aggravated murder and kidnapping.
A Warren County jury on Tuesday found 43-year-old Terry Froman guilty in the September 2014 kidnapping and slaying of 34-year-old Kimberly Thomas, of Mayfield, Kentucky. Authorities say Froman kidnapped Thomas and fatally shot her in his vehicle as he drove along Interstate 75 in Warren County.
Hickory man’s invention wins pitch competition
HICKORY, Ky. (AP) — Jason Newsome works full time as the shop foreman at IHM Used Parts in Hickory, has a family, and for the past 18 months has been teaching and preaching at New Liberty Baptist Church in Mayfield as the search continues for a permanent pastor.
In his spare time, he invented the "die driver" — a tool that fits into tight places and re-forms threads so that nuts can be put back on the bolt and a wheel attached to a car, truck or piece of heavy construction equipment.

MAYFIELD, Ky. (AP) — A judge has dismissed drug charges against a western Kentucky couple after ruling that evidence collected by state police was inadmissible.
The Mayfield Messenger reports Graves Circuit Judge Tim Stark dismissed the case Monday against Tyler and Victoria Smoyer, who had been charged with cultivating and possessing marijuana.
Worms found in burgers at 2 Kentucky McDonald’s restaurants
MAYFIELD, Ky. (AP) — At least two people have reported finding worms in food from McDonald's restaurants in two Kentucky communities.
Mayfield resident Madison Stephens tells WPSD-TV (http://bit.ly/2bMKi9l) that she visited the local McDonald's on Sunday and purchased food for her and her 1-year-old son. She says that as she was about to bite into her hamburger, a live worm fell out.
1 dead in western Kentucky helicopter crash
MAYFIELD, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky State Police say officers are on the scene of a fatal helicopter crash in western Kentucky.
Police said one person died in the crash Monday in Graves County. That person's identity hasn't been released.
Police said in a news release that representatives of the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are on their way to the scene.
Kentucky State Police searching for escaped inmate
MAYFIELD, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky State Police are looking for an escaped inmate from a facility in Mayfield.
State police say in a news release that 28-year-old Capus Cain Adams of Mortons Gap jumped over a fence at the Graves County Restricted Custody Center on Friday night.
Adams was serving a sentence for theft.
