Eric Millsap, who had been living in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, is charged with 152 counts of rape, 24 counts of aggravated sodomy and two counts of attempted aggravated criminal sodomy. Millsap was jailed Monday in Abilene, Kansas, on $1.5 million bond.

An owner of Three Rivers Transit pleaded guilty Tuesday in Allegheny County court to insurance fraud, theft by deception and child endangerment.
Martin W. Betchy, 36, of McKeesport will be sentenced June 28, according to a news release from state Attorney General Josh Shapiro.
One man was shot in the stomach on Palmgreen Street in McKeesport on Wednesday night.
The 38-year-old was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown.
The shooting was reported at the 2900 block of Palmgreen about 9:30 p.m.
Port Authority of Allegheny County schedules 2 Mon Valley meetings to share BRT changes
Port Authority of Allegheny County has scheduled two meetings in the Mon Valley to see if new service options for a proposed Bus Rapid Transit system address rider concerns.

A 64-year-old woman was struck by a McKeesport police vehicle as she crossed a city intersection Monday night, sending her to a Pittsburgh-area hospital in stable condition, police Chief Bryan Washowich said Tuesday.

MCKEESPORT, Pa. (AP) — Fire officials in Pennsylvania are crediting a cat with saving the lives of its owners, who were sound asleep when a fire broke out in their home.
The blaze at 1 a.m. Friday apparently started in the attic of the home in McKeesport, about 12 miles south of Pittsburgh.

Pennsylvania fire chief removed, accused of sex with minor
MCKEESPORT, Pa. (AP) — A volunteer fire department in western Pennsylvania has removed its fire chief after police say he was caught having sex with a teenage girl in the backseat of a car.
McKeesport police found 46-year-old Aaron Powell and the girl in a parking lot on Sunday night.
According to the criminal complaint, Powell told officers he had been seeing the teen "in this manner" for a couple of weeks.

Fifty-two-year-old Cassandra Locke of McKeesport was charged Wednesday with homicide in the death of the 49-year-old victim, whose name hasn't been released.
Police say he was stabbed in the chest in a third-floor apartment on the city's South Side, then made his way into the lobby of the building and collapsed. He was pronounced dead shortly after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at UPMC Mercy.
Man charged with homicide in 28-year-old’s fatal shooting
MCKEESPORT, Pa. (AP) — McKeesport police have charged a man with homicide in the fatal shooting of a man they say he argued with.
Authorities say police responding to a 911 call found a 28-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds at a house Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Minutes later, police were sent to a local hospital to see a second man, 28-year-old Damien Ashley, also with gunshot wounds. Ashley was flown to a trauma center, where he's listed in stable condition.
Jimmy Beaumont, co-writer of ‘Since I Don’t Have You,’ dies
MCKEESPORT, Pa. (AP) — Jimmy Beaumont, the lead singer of the doo-wop group the Skyliners and a co-writer of the iconic ballad "Since I Don't Have You," has died at age 76.
Beaumont died in his sleep Saturday at his home in McKeesport, about 10 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, his hometown, his family said.
Cops: One-armed woman fails in Pennsylvania bank robbery try
EAST MCKEESPORT, Pa. (AP) — Police say a one-armed woman tried to rob a Pennsylvania bank.
East McKeesport police say 51-year-old Wanda Irvin entered the Key Bank branch about 4 p.m. Tuesday armed with a knife and demanded money. When the teller refused, police say Irvin ran out of the bank and drove away.
Police say a witness got Irvin's license plate, which they tracked to her home where they found a knife in her purse.
CSX working to remove 25 coal cars derailed in Pennsylvania
MCKEESPORT, Pa. (AP) — CSX was working to remove 25 coal cars that derailed in a Pittsburgh suburb.
CSX spokesman Rob Doolittle says 25 cars left the tracks about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, but 14 of the cars remained upright with only one or two wheels disengaged from their tracks in McKeesport. The other 11 derailed cars tipped over or were leaning out of line with the tracks.
Although some coal spilled, there was no environmental impact and nobody was hurt.

2nd suspect in slaying of 2 sisters arrested in Walmart
MCKEESPORT, Pa. (AP) — Police say a second suspect has been arrested in a shooting during an attempted burglary that killed two sisters and critically wounded a man earlier this month near Pittsburgh.
Allegheny County police say 19-year-old Kylee Lankford was arrested Tuesday morning in a Walmart in North Versailles.
Authorities said two men broke into a McKeesport home Sept. 1 and ended up killing 52-year-old Melodie Robb and 55-year-old Kimberly Lesko.
2 women killed, man wounded in suburban Pittsburgh shooting
MCKEESPORT, Pa. (AP) — Allegheny County police say two women have been killed and a man wounded in a shooting in McKeesport, a crime-ridden suburb of Pittsburgh.
Police were called to a home about 3:30 a.m. and found two people shot in the living room and another in the bedroom.

The 17-year-old was arrested in May and charged with criminal homicide. Police say the infant, Isaiah Brooks-Leonard, was found unresponsive at a McKeesport residence after being home alone with his father Feb. 6.
