Illinois medical equipment maker expanding in Mississippi
CLEVELAND, Miss. (AP) — Medical equipment maker Baxter International is expanding a Mississippi Delta plant, with plans to add 50 to 100 new employees in about two years.
Baxter spokeswoman Lauren Russ told The Associated Press that the company is doubling capacity at its Cleveland plant to fill bottles of irrigation solution used to clean tissue and wounds.

Debbie Post is using her status as semi-retired to help out kids in need.
The Kids Cupboard is a new limited liability company in the Panhandle. Its mission is to supply area children with medical equipment like walkers, wheelchairs or orthotics.
Post, a retired occupational therapist, spent her career working with children who needed the equipment.
“They outgrow it so fast,” Post said. “Sometimes, kids can outgrow a walker or wheelchair in a matter of months.”

POIPU — An infection-control wheelchair and geri-chair washer will go far toward improving the life of equipment, said Steve Kline, occupational therapist at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital.
